A:  For this unit, dusk-to-dawn means the unit can be activated inside of this timeframe. The light turns ON only if motion is detected, and stays ON for a limited amount of time (to optimize battery power.)

    A:  You could not, it is integrated into the circuit board. You could however get a non motion detector light that has the ability to add one on

    A:  There is plenty of wire from the solar panel to the light, so you can mount it to the roof (If I remember right the hardware for mounting was in the box) to get the best angle for the solar collection during the day.

      A:  Usually the light cord is long enough that you can mount the light on the (North Wall in your case) near where the roof meets the wall. Then mount the solar panel where it will receive the most Sun light. If your chimney is on the North Wall, mount the solar panel as high up as you can on the South side of the Chimney. If the Chimney is not there, try running the Solar panel to the East or West side of your roof and use roofing cement where the screws go into the roof. Have the Solar Panel aimed at a 45 degree angle toward the East rising Sun or to the West toward the setting Sun.

        A:  The solar panel comes with a 15' cable. If you need additional length anyone with some basic electrical knowledge could easily hotwire and extend the cable. I have one mounted inside my shed and the solar panel is mounted on the roof. That way, when I go in the shed at night, the motion sensor illuminates the inside of the shed. No need to run electrical to the shed.

                        Great way to secure construction site
                        I ordered this motion light from homdepot website to act as Vigilant guard on a construction site of two new homes. This light installed easy and fun to work with setting up. I control it by app on my iPad which gives multiple control options. Body is plastic solar panel 1st generation type I will see over one year how the light handles uv rays from the sun and photo cells of the panel for thermal ware(energy from the sun on man made things.) I have been judge jury and executioner of lights of all kinds for years... via my own crime lab debunking myth,legend, law,politics, man made fear( bogeyman theory) and Good lights Bad lights and Ugly lights So this light This one is the Good guy light.

                        nice light
                        This is a nice light for a little extra security at home. Installation was easy and only took about 20 minutes.The instructions are very clear. I installed this over where an existing light had been and it installed onto the existing bracket just fine. If it will be in a new location, you will need to drill 2 holes where you are installing it. You basically mount a bracket onto the wall, then mount the unit onto the bracket. Being solar powered, it won't take any electricity to run and it saves you having to wire it in. The down-side is that you have to also mount the solar panel. Its not large, so its not unattractive - just an extra step. It also affects where you can place the light - preferably facing south, but definitely in an area that gets good sun exposure. Mounting the panel requires drilling 3 holes and it must be within 15 feet of the light. My biggest complaint was stashing and securing the cord that connects the panel to the light. Given where I placed it, it was not easy to conceal. The light settings are easy to adjust both manually or via your phone with the app. In Auto mode the light will be turned on by motion when it is dark out. You can adjust the sensitivity and how long the light stays on. In On mode the light stay on up to 1 hour. When the battery power gets low it automatically goes into ECO mode which decreases the brightness in order to conserve power. Its a nice light that provides some security, saves energy, and lets you not have to mess with electrical wiring.

                        Now there is a light on the subject!!
                        Now we can see whose is at the door!! We have the "Ring" and another surveillance camera from the year one. But when it is dark it is not the greatest. NOW, when we are chilaxxing on the couch with our mint julips, and there is a ring at the door, we can see them, talk to them and not even get off the couch. and the greatest thing we can be on any couch, any place.                           I have bought an array of solar motion lights for my house as these keep my electricity bills down to the minimum. This one was so easy to install.
