        Answer This Question

A:  Ideally without over gluing, evaporation or spillage you should be able to glue approximately one hundred (100) 1/2" PVC joints and approximate forth (40) 2" PVC joints...The weather conditions will also add or subtract for the gluing process, on days the temperature is hot you can use less glue, as the glue flows around the pipe and fittings, on days the temperature is cold you will use slightly more glue, as the glue become less fluid...

        by|Oct 11, 2022

A:  Depends on how much you use. If you are asking, I am guessing you are a homeowner like me. As my FIL told me, it will go bad long before you use it all.

          by|Oct 5, 2022

A:  That would be hard for me to answer, I usually end up spilling one or the other. The primer goes a lot farther than the glue. I believe on the last remodel I worked on, we used 2 cans of the cement.

A:  No you want the joint to be dry before applying primer and cement.

              by|Oct 27, 2022

A:  I’ve never attempted to use it on a wet surface. I used it on a clean dry surface.

                by|Aug 28, 2022

A:  If you have an area where the PVC is wet, use the blue rain or shine pvc cement. It will adhere if there is water on the pipe or in the pipe. This was you will not have a leak later on. Good luck on your project.

                        Works
This did the job on my garden pvc sprinkler repair. Parts must be dry or use the rain solvent one. This was a nice pair combination for my needs. Did the repairs nicely but wish they offered a smaller amount for homeowners that need half that amount or offer the cleaner and rain application as well as a set.

Great kit. Extremely easy to use. The purple dye in the primer was especilly valuable in identifying where the materials had been applied, and spots that had been missed. The PVC cement quickly set and created absolutely waterproof connections between the materials being joined.

The clear cement had to be redone after being allowed to set for the 24 hours. I have re done it again and it still holding except that one of the joints is bubbling and small amount of water is seeping out of it.

My daughter loves tennis but because of covid-19 all the tennis courts were closed in our State. I built this tennis training/practice apparatus so she could play in our yard and keep practicing. I purchased the Oatey 8 oz. PVC Handy Pack Purple Primer and Solvent Cement on 5/18/20 from the Home Depot. It is made to work specifically with PVC pipe. I also purchased Charlotte Pipe 1 1/2 inch PVC from Home Depot and added a 10' x 10' net and some bungee cords and built the tennis training/practice apparatus on 5/19/20. My daughter loves it and it works awesome! She has a powerful serve and ground stroke and has been outside most mornings getting exercise and practicing. What I really like about the Oatey purple primer and solvent cement is that it creates a super strong bond instantly within seconds between the PVC pipes. I was able to do my whole project and only used about 20% of the glue. The Oatey 8 oz handy pack definitely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it because it is easy to use, creates a strong bond, and it is very affordable.
