Q:In the table above it says the diameter of the 16 gauge is 1/2 inch. But the answers below say ~1/16 of an inch. Which is correct? I need to buy 1/16 inch galvanized steel tension wire for an outdoor project.

    A:  This 16 gauge wire is approximately 1/16” in diameter. 1/2” is not correct.

        A:  Yes, I have used this wire to make chainmaille in the past. and it is easy to use with chain nose pliers. The best part is that the rings will not tarnish over time because its galvanized stainless steel.

          A:  Hi, and thank you for your question. The material could work as it is bendable enough to take shapes, however it may not provide for easy mobility. A Higher Gauged (lighter) Wire may work better for mobility.

                  A:  16 guage is 0.052 inches. And yes you can tie it after you get all the tangled out.
