AnswerThe Athena's supply lines are standard. A valve is not necessary as the faucet works as a valve. You would only need a valve for the whole bathroom for safety.

AnswerHello Greg, Thank you for the question. The hand shower fill rate is 1.61 GPM, and the spout have a flow rate of 3.909 GPM so it will take less time to fill the tub. The faucet should not trickle at all, it could be because of the poor installation. Thank you

total scam
Had it installed last month, worked great for couple weeks, one day the handle completely detached and came off without warning. Product is not sturdy at all. On Home Depot the product supposedly had one year warranty, but when i called Home Depot says call manufacturer and manufacturer is nowhere to be found. Stay away from them, and Home Depot should not be carrying a product like this on its platform, it betrays consumer trust.

My wife choose this tap to complement the free-standing soaker tub in out new home. After I installed the tap, barely a dribble of water came out much to our disappointment. I contacted Customer Service and they informed me that I need to replace the cartridge......really, a brand new, expensive tap that doesnt work.
So I waited 10 days before I received the replacement cartridge with no installation instructions. We contacted customer service again and were directed to a web site. After removing the old cartridge and installing the new one, guess what, still there is barely any water that comes out and there is no hot water. Ive seen that this has also been an issue for other people too.
Ive wasted my time installing & 'fixing' this tap only to have a wife thats not happy that she still cannot use the soaker tub. Is someone going to pay for my time installing, fixing and now having to remove this tap?
This tap looks nice but thats all it is, an expensive piece of art......dont waste your time buying this tap.
