Q:If it is filled above the 12 ounce mark, how much more does that add? (Shooting for a 14 ounce cup if possible.)

Answer This Question

A:  I use approx. 18 oz to get 16 oz cup There is the soaking of grounds to degas coffee before the pour, so that absorbs some, next I don't merely dump the remaining 17 oz or so, but gradually poor until it's safe to dump the remaining water. Consistent cup.

A:  That is 1 thing I like about it. You have total control of taste/strength & how much you drink per day. I like strong coffee. I use 2 Tablespoons for 6-8oz of hot water.

A:  I haven't timed it, but it seems like it takes 2-3 minutes. The nice thing is you don't have to tend to it. Just pour you water into the clear hopper, go check your email and when you return you've got a fresh tasty cup!

A:  That really depends upon how much coffee you have in the strainer. But for a strong coffe drinker like me, it takes about five minutes.

                    Great coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from OXO to review. This product came at a great time because my drip coffee maker broke right after the pour-over coffee maker arrived so I was able to really put this to the test. It made great coffee and I loved everything about it, except I wish it would have some kind of lip to keep it a bit more secure on the cup. This is definitely one of my favorite OXO products.

Easy way to make a great cup of coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always wanted to try a pour-over but wasn't sure how to do it. Thankfully I found this product from OXO. Overall, I am very pleased with the design and quality of the product. The packaging was simple and didn't include styrofoam (always a plus in my book). The box comes with everything you need, including a starter pack of 10 #2 filters. The three pieces are extremely well made and of premium quality - typical of OXO brand products. It looked so clean out of the box, I almost forgot to wash it before my first use. Using the provided instructions (extremely simple) I made my first cup. The hardest part was waiting for the water to boil. First cup: 6oz. cup using 10g of coffee (2T) and it took 2 mins and 25 seconds. Second cup: 12 oz. cup using 20g of coffee (4T) and it took 2 mins and 45 seconds. The taste was excellent and equally compares to our OXO brewer. This product is ideal for those who want to have less than 4 cups of coffee. Plus, the clean up on this product is a breeze. Clean up is very simple, doesn't take long, and is easy to dry and store. As a family who dislikes clutter this pour-over coffee maker is ideal. Simple to use, easy to clean, doesn't take up a lot of counter/cabinet space, and makes an excellent cup of coffee in just a few minutes. I definitely recommend this for any coffee lover. The downsides to this product are minimal: First, if you like to drink from wide mouth mugs (4.25"), this won't work for you as the base doesn't cover past the rim (see photo). Next, Using 4T for a 12 oz cup of coffee is a bit much. In comparison, our brewer uses 4T to makes double that amount. So, if this is your primary coffee maker, you will use a lot of coffee. Finally, I recommend adding the water/coffee ratios on the product itself like under the lid or on the side. OXO provides a small card with the instructions and ratios, but I'd like to have them on the product instead. Overall, I highly recommend this OXO product.

                        Smooth coffee - worth it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try the OXO pour over. It came with the coffee filters, so that was an added bonus! I used about 4 tbsp of medium ground coffee (darker roast) and poured about 18 oz hot water and the coffee turned out so much smoother than a drip coffee machine. I poured more water than what was recommended because of the darker roast. Love the outcome, and how easy it is to clean.

                          Elevated drop coffee design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have so many coffee devices and this is my favorite! I love drip coffee and didn’t realize that it could be made any easier. The top reservoir that holds and drips your hot water is so convenient, vs the devices where you pour your water and have to manual continue adding more water. A simple elevated design but I love it. The cover is also handy because it fits under the bottom piece when I walk to my garbage can to dump the filter bag. Love love love!

Easy to use for full flavor coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally am a french press drinker but thought this would be a bit easier at work. It is very easy to use and convenient to clean up. It does cost more than your typical french pressed cup with the liner and extra beans needed but I find the full flavor and easy clean up at work to be worth it. Also after several washes it still looks brand new!

I love my morning cup of coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderful addition to my morning routine. Oxo sent me a pour over to test out and I love it. It’s so much easier than my French press. I add the medium ground beans to the filter and then use the measurements on the water tank. Coffee in just a few minutes and it was a good cup. The holes in the hot water tank make it so that you don’t have to be there while your coffee is brewing or make sure to time the pouring. It’s like 900% easier than a regular pour over. I also love the clean up. Rinse and repeat!! This is fabulous to have. I only wish that it came in glass because I am trying to reduce my use of plastics. So maybe Oxo will come out with one!

                                Awesome little coffee maker!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the coolest little pour over! I’ve never used one or actually seen one. It’s quick, easy, clean and starts your day off! The top where you add the water comes off as a drain or holder. It’s easy to clean and put all away and doesn’t take much space at all. So if you want a cup of coffee over an entire pot, this is what you would want in your collection or for guests as well. 10 out of 10 with this product!

very simple to use, makes excellent cups of coffee, have been using it for one month now. Would prefer it to drip a little slower to increase brewing strength, but overall very impressed and glad I had invested in the oxo good grips coffee maker.

We have used the regular pour over coffee makers for years because we like fresh, strong coffee and they seem to be the best way to achieve this. This Good Grips pour over coffee maker makes stronger coffee with less coffee grounds probably because it meters the hot water so that it pours more slowly over the grounds. It does take a little longer to brew a cup but it makes a very good cup of coffee so it's worth the wait.

This is a well made, handy little coffee brewer that's easy to use. Just set it over just about any cup or mug, insert a filter(several are included), put your grounds in and pour boiling water over top. It takes a good 2-3 minutes to brew a 12 ounce cup. The directions recommend 1/4 cup of coffee for a 12 oz. cup which in my opinion is way too much. I use half of that and it's perfect, at least for me. Clean up is a cinch- it's dishwasher safe.
