A: The blades are roughly 4.5 inches long. They easily cut through the backbone of a whole chicken.
A: I'm not sure but there not to big, I grill whole chickens every weekend and cut the back bone out and these make easy work of that.
A: Overall about 10 inches with 3.5-4 inches of blade.
A: The entire length of the shears is 9.5 inches. They would fit in a slot about 3 inches wide. That measurement is a little iffy because of the shape of the handles. The backs of the blades are 1/8 inch thick. The upper, smooth, blade is sharpened down to about 3 inches and the lower, serrated, edge is 2.5 inches. I would consider the 2.5 inches to be the effective cutting length.
