How to Select the Right Tubular

An offset extension tublar connections the sink to the wall

Select Components

A standard sink set-up requires a P-trap, trap adaptor and tailpiece. Extensions and trap offsets may be required if your sink and wall connection do not align. For kitchens, double bowls, dishwashers and garbage disposals will require additional products.

Determine Size

Kitchen and laundry room fixtures
require a 1-½ in. product. Bathrooms will almost always require a 1-¼ in. product, but double check your wall connection.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes if you get an adaptor. You may need to get more than 1 to get from 1" to 1.5".

      by|Dec 23, 2022

A:  This will fit over 1-1/2" tubular and 1-1/4" tubular with a reducing washer. Typically kitchen sinks are 1-1/2" tubular and restroom sinks would be 1-1/4" tubular.

A:  This will not work for that application. You may need to replace the drain on the sink with a 1-1/2" down tube one

A:  You should be able to. Kitchen sink piping is 1 and a half inches wide. Bathroom vanity sinks are usually 1 and a quarter inches wide. So yes, this size is what you want for a kitchen sink.

I ended up needing only 4" of this extension tube but it worked great when converting a double-drain sink to a single, very easy to install. Cut easily with a hack saw and I attached it to a 90 degree elbow.

Used this tailpiece for a new kitchen sink install in a home remodel. Everbilt makes good plumbing products for under the sinks. The pvc material it’s made of is really durable and with descent flex. Water flows through it nice. It’s super easy to cut and I’ve never had an issue with any of the compression fittings. The fitting on it tightens up real nice and easy to snug up well. Also the white color of it I like because when I shine a flashlight on it I can see if I have anything in the pipes stuck or if they’re getting really gunky.Super simple to use whether your a pro or diy’er.

I like plastic when it comes to drains; a plastic tailpiece lasts forever and is inert to water, grease, etc. It is also good with hot water going down it-no worries about it softening. It is easy to install. It has the rubber rings and spin on compression nuts. You can do it by hand and snugly tighten by hand. The length is such that with no two sinks being exactly the same install, it can be trimmed with a hacksaw to the length your install calls for. It will connect to metal drain parts too. When installing any new sink, change your drain pipe parts (slip joint, trap, etc.) because do it right by doing it just once.

The extension tube was shipped in very sturdy packaging and has everything you need for under sink tail piece installation. I like pvc better than metal because it won't rust. It comes with great washers to prevent leaks. Packaging includes instructions for installation. The tail piece can be cut with a hacksaw to desired length. If replacing an old pipe save the old pipe to measure. If new application cut a little off at a time till you get it right, if you cut too much you will have to replace. I recommend this product for under sink applications.

I needed to replace the straight drain pipe from my garage "dump sink" to the S-trap below. This one fit the job perfectly and it's 12" length, although more than I really needed, made it easy to have at least a bit of overlap where this pipe meets the S-trap. Although not "Schedule 40" thickness, which is not really needed for my application, it's thick enough to withstand some wear and tear. My old one was much thinner and I believe that's why it simply wore out. The pictures may not be the prettiest but they tell the story. I like this DIY product!!
