Solvent Weld Steps
Step 1
Determine pipe type and size.
Step 2
Cut pipe square, chamfer and debur. Clean pipe and fitting.
Step 3
Apply primer to pipe and fittings. (Do not use primer for ABS pipe.)
Step 4
Before primer dries, apply solvent cement to pipe and fitting. While cement is wet, push pipe and fitting together with a 1/4 turn of the pipe.

OATEY PVC Regular Bodied Fast Set Clear Cement is recommended for DWV, pressure pipe, potable water and electrical applications. It is easy to apply with included in-lid dauber and its clear provides a clean finish. This regular bodied, fast set cement can be used to solvent weld all schedules and classes of PVC pipe and fittings up to 4 in. for Schedule 40 and up to 2 in. for Schedule 80 with interference fit.
