        Answer This Question

A:  The difference is in diameter that you should use it. One is for home use and the other has better performance.

A:  Medium bodied cement has more resin in the cement which makes it thicker. It is this way for pipes up to 6" to fill the larger gap between the pipe and fittings. Regular bodied cement is for up to 4" SCH 40 and 2" SCH 80.

This product works great and I would recommend it for gluing pvc pipes. I used this product to repair a pvc patio lounge chair where the pipe was not glued and came apart. Worked great.

Most PVC cement is pretty standard. However I did like the consistency of this brand. Not too thick but covered well. Worked great. Push together and within seconds the pipes are adhered together.

as other reviews have stated ,, my old unused can was just a glob after a few years since last use ,,, i decided to test and play ,, i put it on old pvc pipes that been been out in the yard for a few years too ,, and dirty ,, so i just wiped it with a wet rag and just use it without the purple primer ... just to see what if ,,,,,, for connections of a new sump pump ,,,, it did not dry when i typically do it within a few seconds ,, but then i just put a big big glob on both of the connecting piece ,, so i probably used too much ,, but when it did dry after about 5 minutes ,, it was nice and tight and so far after a couple weeks, , it has been holding with no leak .. i read that the primer was to also melt the pvc to soften it and then the cement would complete a better weld ... apparently it can work without the primer purple .. also after use ,, i put a coating of cement on the cap thread before closing ,, so with the hopes that maybe after a few years ,, it will me give a seal that it will not gob in the future ,, and it will be the future that tells me if that works .. i tried to show in my picture but is difficult to show ,, but i did not put s lot on it but some did drip below the cap as it was screw on ..

Works great, after several years ms. turtle started disassembling her turtle dock support I made so I had to glue it together. I just let the parts dry out applied the glue and that was the end of the problem.

Works great, glued joints are rock solid
My jar of the blue thicker glue had turned to jelly after a few months, so I picked up this "Regular" PVC cement. I don't typically need the features of the thicker blue Rain-R-Shine cement, and prefer this thinner more liquid version--less messy and easy to apply. I used it on a pool drain pipe with some of the purple primer, and the joints were rock solid in seconds. Easy to use and works great, good price.
