A:  This cover is designed to be screwed into a tapped cleanout plug, and is not recommended for use without the cleanout plug.

    A:  We used this for a cover to the drain cleanout under our kitchen sink. Using a large screw we attached it to the square at the center of the plug. Put the screw in the cover and drilled it into the plug. This is, however, mostly a vinyl/plastic over a very thin stainless steel. We were able to trim a section off using heavy shop scissors.

    A:  It's actually made of stainless steel with a vinyl coating. The coating feels like plastic. I enlarged the hole using a hole saw and there is stainless steel there.

    A:  Wow! It certainly fooled me. It feels just like the old plastic one that the had the hole broken out of it. Why would anyone buy the plastic one when they're about the same price?

          Great Choice: I am in the middle of remodeling my basement bathroom. My older bathroom was not in code and had a very small shower (36 x 36). I have had to gut the entire bathroom {metal studs and all}. Replaced all new water lines and drains, to include adding a clean-out. I put the clean-out on a wall that will be for a storage closet later on. This was the ticket to cover the hole.
