Solvent Weld Steps
Step 1
Determine pipe type and size.
Step 2
Cut pipe square, chamfer and debur. Clean pipe and fitting.
Step 3
Apply primer to pipe and fittings. (Do not use primer for ABS pipe.)
Step 4
Before primer dries, apply solvent cement to pipe and fitting. While cement is wet, push pipe and fitting together with a 1/4 turn of the pipe.

OATEY PVC Regular Bodied Fast Set Clear Cement is recommended for DWV, pressure pipe, potable water and electrical applications. It is easy to apply with included in-lid dauber and its clear color provides a clean finish. This regular bodied, fast set cement can be used to solvent weld all schedules and classes of PVC pipe and fittings up to 4 in. for Schedule 40 and up to 2 in. for Schedule 80 with interference fit. Same old cement with reliable performance. Had to replace schedule...
Same old cement with reliable performance. Had to replace schedule 40 pvc adapter for spin filter on my yard pump so replacement fittings were needed. Up and running 3 hrs after purchasing new cement (10 yr-old can had dried out).
Price was about 1/3 less than it showed on-line. Rare find these days.

I've used this product for years and it works well....
I've used this product for years and it works well. My complaint is the can's cap. It's almost impossible to open, and there is no good reason for that. I always have to almost destroy the can to get to the product. The cleaner and the primer also have caps that are almost as hard to open, again for no good reason. Make sure you have a heavy duty can opener on hand for this chore.
