How much liquid will each packet gel? Could it be used in a luggable loo (toilet bucket)?

Asked by Atto December 15, 2020

Answer

It could be used and will want to use 2 or 3 packets depending on how full the bucket is. Each packet is good for 1 to 2 gallons of water.

Can this product be used in the toilet tank instead of the bowl?

Yes, but it won't solidify the water in the bowl if you do that. You will be better off soaking up the water in the tank with a sponge, towel, or paper towel instead.

It works very well if you don't have a lot of water in the bowl. Some bowls hold more than others and for those that hold more water one packet isn't enough. I find that flushing the bowl just right so that whatever is left in the tank doesn't completely fill the bowl is the best method. Sometimes you have to turn the supply valve on a couple times and try flushing it more than once during the water filling process to get it just right. Then when the bowl is only half full add the Liquilock.

I removed most of the water from the toilets prior to adding Oatey Liquilock. Poured it in, waited about 15 minutes and was able to removed the old toilet and set it in large trash bag by myself. (I'm a mid-50s women). This product definitely works and makes a nasty job much easier and a lot less messy.

Does the job, but will crumble and break up again from gravity if you alter the orientation of the toilet. I used around 6 so far! Use two at a time if there’s a lot of water and 1 if there isn’t much, then wait 4 minutes. To get rid of it, flush again or apply water on top. It’s supposedly environmentally friendly so it won’t kill more things than it should!
