I prefer the single larger screw design for these wall/handrail...
I prefer the single larger screw design for these wall/handrail brackets. I find it easier to consistently hit the stud securely. I also find that the larger screw does not strip out as easily as the smaller screws on the 3 screw design. Lastly I believe it has a more contemporary appearance.

Have installed a lot of hand rail brackets and by far this are the easiest to install. And your fingers do not hit on them going down or up the stairs.

I like that these handrail brackets require only one screw...
I like that these handrail brackets require only one screw to attach to the stud in the wall. I find them to be plenty sturdy. Other brackets have as many as 3 screws required to attach the bracket to the wall, which is more work & increases the chance of having one of the screws slip off the stud.
