What type of adhesive should I use to put these on a cement landing outside the front door?

    Answer This Question

I used Loctite 0 second power grap for my interior kitchen vertical wall application and it held very well - allowing some time to make small adjustments.

We used the mortar that Red Mill makes (same brand as the bricks).

what type of sealant would you use if this were to be used as a floor tile in an entry way?

        Answer This Question

My application was on a wall (vertical surface). I used a Loctite adhesive that said it was instant grab (about $8.00 a tube) and it worked well. Nothing moved after it was placed on the wall. Not sure what to use on a flat surface. The way you grout it probably makes a difference.

Actually, I used this brick on my walls & did not seal. So not sure on the sealer for floors. All I know is I love this brick.

            What grout is recommended?

            Answer This Question

Sanded Grout typically. I would use something like this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/SAKRETE-50-lb-Non-Shrink-Precision-Grout-65450041/206934617 There are instructions on Youtube on how to grout this. You use a grout bag. Don't do it like you would normal tile. You would be disappointed.

Can I adhere these thin bricks on cement stairs!

              Answer This Question

You could. Depending on whether the stairs are indoor or out you would use a different adhesive.

Can these be applied over wood siding?

                Answer This Question

We do not recommend installing over wood siding. We recommend installing over cement board.

I would not. It needs to have a sturdy backing, such as cement board or at the very least hardiboard

Why would You? I suppose if you had the right kind of adhesive, mortar etc. You could. They will be very heavy.i used mine solely for flooring an entranceway, no gravity issues there...

A box covers 7.3 square feet. Is that taking into account a 3/8th grout line or just butted up against each other?

                    Answer This Question

I don’t see why not. These are real brick, just thin like a tile. I do t think I’d use them outdoors in a very cold climate as they may crack. Contact manufacturer

Easier project than I thought it would be
I'm really happy with the way this project came out. There are a lot of really good "how to" videos on YouTube for those of us who have never done brick work before. I was concerned at first because a fair amount of bricks had uneven edges and corners, but in the end it gave it a more antique look. Some were so uneven and thin in spots that I deemed them unusable and would recommend ordering at least an additional 15% extra to make sure you have enough.

                          Pretty little block
Seriously sturdy and gorgeous all in one brick. Brick color and texture were varied but with the same color scheme. Final wall was authentic looking and interesting. I used it for decor so the pattern was atypical and stacked and not running bond. It was cool.

I used the Rushmore singles and corners to tile my fireplace surround. They were easy to cut, lay, and grout. It was my first ever tile project. Happy with the result. Would buy again

                              Manufacturer photos are VERY misleading
I have three boxes of these which are now going to be returned. When you look at the website photos, look very carefully at the photo of the two bricks lying on top of each other, in an "X' (the very first photo). Also look at the photo I uploaded here. THAT is the color you are getting, for EVERY brick. The other photos showing shades of red, grey and white -- you are not getting that. You are going to get a box of brown bricks with some white specks in them.
