It all depends on your daily use of filtered water. It's just my wife and I and I don't think we use 1 gallon per day. The first time I changed the 3 main filters and the (stage 4) small one on top at about 7 months. The filters all looked clean. I have a whole house filter that I change every 3 months so the water is fairly clean going into the RO system. The second time I changed the same 4 filters was a year later and there was only trace amounts of dis-coloration of the first filter. I buy the 4 pack of filters from Olympia each time because they offer free shipping. So all 4 get changed each time. It's cheaper than buying the 3 pack and paying for shipping. I hope this helps answer your question.

We installed this in a vacation condo. We estimate average usage as 5gal/day x 200 days/year. H...

Answer

The stage 1-3 filter replacement time frame of 6-12 months is based on an average of the drinking/cooking water usage for a small household (2-4 people) - 3 gallons per day. If your source water is from a municipal water supply, the replacement time frame will usually be closer to 12 months.

Can this be used in a RV

Asked by MGMorris July 20, 2020

Answer

Yes, this under-sink RO system can be used in an RV. However, please keep in mind that the incoming water pressure to the system should be 50psi-100psi and the system requires drain line.

I don't believe the manufacturer has any set rules as to where you can install the unit. It's more of a convenient place to install it under the kitchen sink. If you want the faucet of the unit to be installed in the kitchen sink, you may have to purchase more hose from the manufacturer to reach. I did have an other idea (where you are in Florida) that maybe you could install the unit on the out side of the house and run the hoses through the wall. Perhaps build an enclosure where the unit would be installed and it would be convenient to access for changing the filter cartridges when needed.

Do you have installers?

Yes. This system taps into the existing cold water line for the supply and has a discharge tube for the waste water that taps into the existing drain. The water that comes from the units faucet is clean drinking water that can be used for cooking and drinking. The water that comes from the regular kitchen faucet is used for washing dishes. Depending on what you are filtering from your tap water, you probably would not want to use the tap water from the regular kitchen faucet. For example, if your water has Arsenic in it, you would not want to use the un-filtered water for consumption.

Hello! How much calcium does this filter delay?

Asked by Igor August 1, 2019
1
Answer

There are a few factors that determine the exact percentage of removal, but the system should remove at least 90% of calcium.

Can this be installed with a garbage disposal already in place?

I’ve been using this filter for a few months now, and I absolutely love it. Install was easy. It took about 30 minutes. All the lines were color coded so there’s little chance of messing it up. My only gripe is it did not come with mounting screws for the filter head. Other than that, it was a flawless install. No leaks, no issues. It took about 3 complete fills/drains of the reservoir to clear out the carbon (Black/gray water). After that, about another 3 or 4 for the water to be completely clear (no little white suspended specs of... whatever it was. Minerals?). My water is crystal clear, and tastes great. I drink about 1.5gal per day (+ what the wife drinks) so we get plenty of use out of it. After a few months, it’s already paid for itself. Next on the list is plumb an alternate drain line (with a switch valve) to use the waste to water the lawn, and an alt dispense line to go to the fridge to get purified ice and cold water. I love this thing. It would have been perfect if the faucet came in brushed chrome to match, but not a deal breaker.

Delivered on time and not hard to install. Stage 1 leaked when I tested it after installation, I guess it’s because of the 1st stage takes a lot of pressure and the thread is not very good, but easy to fix, now no leaking. Filtered water quality feels good (I haven’t used a test kit to test it yet), water pressure is good. Overall, I’m satisfied with this filtration system.

Easy to install. Works great! I am extremely pleased with this product. The one tip I would provide for anyone installing this product is to take your time & push each tube in all the way. I think this is the issue with others that had leak issues.

Easy, very effective
Hookup was very easy. I was replacing an existing unit, so I just hooked up the old hookups. I like it better than the older model. No leaks. The small push in connectors are prone to small leaks, but perhaps these are better connectors and no leaks at all. Tested the water after flushing the system 5 times. Well water Faucet 424 ppm (pretty high) Bottled water 127 ppm RO water after flushing system 24 ppm It does what it is supposed to do. Almost distilled water after processing. I don't believe that a high ppm is necessarily bad, depending on what is in the water. If you want to add back minerals, they have filter units you can add after the finishing carbon filter that will add back what you want.
