The OROS-80 features 5-stages of filtration; a 5 micron sediment filter (stage 1), 5 micron carbon block filters (stages 2 and 3), 0.0001 micron 80 GPD RO membrane (stage 4) and a post-carbon filter (stage 5) to purify tap water and well water to provide clean, high-quality drinking water. The system uses 10 in. industry standard sized pre-filters (stages 1-3). User-friendly installation and maintenance with step-by-step manual and quick connect fittings.

Yes, but it will not be efficient at filtering the water. Meaning you will be making a lot more waste water. Are you by chance using well water for your drinking water? If so, I would invest in a booster pump. This will save your more expensive well pump. I hear Aquatec is a quality brand assembled in America! But since this is America, you can invest in any booster pump you want. You can get a sensor to work with the pump to automatically shut off when you have reached your desired quantity of filtered water.

Is a Universal Filtered RO system? i.e. does it only use proprietary filters or generic can be used?

You can use any faucet you like. It just happens to come with this finish. I used my old faucet. You will have to buy the faucet of your desires. But is having clean water more important than the "right" faucet ?

I bought the Olympia Reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system + fridge connector after testing my city water with a TDS (total dissolved solutes) meter. I was upgrading from a 2 stage activated carbon system which I discovered was not removing much of the solutes or particles out of my drinking water. From my own testing. I encourage you to do your own. Home Depot sells TDS meters. TDS city H2O=210-270...Old 2 stage filter=240...Olympia sys=20 PRO: -Easy installation.Done within an hour. -Unit comes pre-assembled; only requires a few screws to hang the bracket and a single drill hole to dispose of the waste water or water that did meet the high standards to be your drinking water. -Water tastes great and the ice cubes from the filtered H20 has clarity to them. -Filters are easy to install and don't require changing very often. I was concerned about maintenance. -The faucet is beautiful and well built. If you do not like it or need another finish, you can buy any faucet you want. Installs easily! CON: I am mentioning this because of my concerns that water is a limited resource. -Due to the nature of ALL RO sys.- when you filter water, some of it makes it into the tank for drinking and some of it does not, which is the waste water. When you replace water you used, the system is more efficient at filtering when you replace larger volumes. Meaning you make more drinking water and less waste water. I dislike this about the filtration system but it is a problem with all RO systems........ Luckily.... PRO: The system comes with a back pressure valve so you can use water from the tank without replacing it immediately. The valve comes pre-assembled so you do not have to do anything else. Filling a few glasses of water will not cause the system to start replacing it. ****I personally use a large water jug to replace water I use for cooking or to top off the kettle with so I am more environmentally friendly. I suggest you do the same.**** In summation, this is the best upgrade I made to my old home! I fully recommend it. Easy to install and piece of mind that you control what goes into your body!

Relatively easy to install for someone who is handy. The connectors take a little trick to get the hose to release, but overall it went together very smoothly. I had one broken connector and the company replaced it with overnight shipping, no questions asked. Excellent customer support and it works great!

the installation was very easy, also the attachment were all provided and it seems in very good shape. only one think I would like to mention is the reading of the water for safe drinking was poor, I know if its under 100 will be safe to drink but the reading to be 74, I think its too high for a brand new filter! the company should do more on this side to give to people a better product. Thank you.
