Spraying new rough cedar siding with the Mineral Oil based Elite, Semi Transparent. Will it take one coat or two and if two, how long between coats must I wait?
Rough Cedar is very porous, so if one coat looks as though it has a nice uniform look, that is fine. If it looks as though it could use more, it is safe between 4-72 hours for another coat, but pleas use thin coats whether you use one or two coats. It's clear you recommend one coat. I tried one and two coats for comparison on sample and found the color better for two. What is the basis for recommending one coat and what problem would I create if I applied a second coat?
