    Is it sour?

Planted on March 8, but on April 22 the tree is still dormant. Is it normal?
    ByApr 23, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

It can be normal for a bare root tree planted on March 8th to still appear dormant on April 22nd. Several factors can influence the timing of bud break, including the tree's variety, your local climate, and the weather conditions that year. For example, another user in northern California mentioned their tree sprouted in about 1 1/2 weeks, while another user experienced no growth after two weeks. This demonstrates the variability in sprouting times. Sometimes, it can take a few weeks or even longer for a newly planted tree to show signs of growth. If you are concerned, you can check for signs of life by lightly scratching a small area of bark on a branch. If you see green underneath, the tree is still alive.

How long it can take to produce fruits?
    ByMar 11, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

This tree is a rapid grower and a heavy fruit bearer, but the exact time it takes to produce fruit can vary. Generally, plum trees can start producing fruit 2-4 years after planting. However, factors like growing conditions, pollination, and tree care can influence the fruiting time.

What does it mean when it says self-pollinator or needs a pollinator
      ByMar 16, 2021
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

Self pollinator means you only need 1 tree. Flowers self pollinate on the same tree. This is an example.

        Not a greengage
Mine is not a greengage. I've had it for 2 years now & finally got fruit & its not greengage. Even Google says the leaves don't match greengage & the fruit is redish color. Also got a shiro plum AND that one doesn't look like Shiro either! It's a small & red fruit. Put a ton of work into these smh. I try messaging them & I get no response. Are they a scam???? So scammy.

Top part of the plant looked great. The roots...there were practically no fine/hair roots. The tree had started to bud out, and I planted it the day I got it. But even soaking it in, the buds died out. I'm giving it time, who knows, but I have a reminder set on my calendar to return it within the 90 day window if it doesn't sprout.

Great fruit tree at a reasonable price
Today I received my dwarf greengage plum from online orchards, and I am quite happy with it. It is a good looking grafted tree thats over a half inch thick. As an aspiring fruit farmer who orders dozens of trees, I am pleased with the condition and cost of this tree and will make future purchases.
