The Van cherry tree is widely known to be 1 of the heaviest fruit producers out of all cherry varieties. These beautiful cherries are a deep crimson-purple in color and grow quite large in comparison to other sweet cherry varieties. Van is a precocious cherry cultivar with fruit that is sweet, juicy, and quite large. The Van tree is a modern marvel among cherries and is widely considered an improvement on the Bing cherry. The Van Cherry Tree is actually quite cold hardy, being classified as growing in USDA hardiness zones 4 - 9. This means that Van withstand such temperatures all the way down to -20° F! Additionally, yes the Van Cherry Tree can be easily grown in a container. Thanks for your interest!

I thought this tree was going to be like the ones they sell at Home Depot (5ft tall and full). It was only about 2.5 ft tall and had one branch. It looked dead when it arrived. There was no dirt with the roots, the roots were just wrapped in plastic. Should have cost a lot less for what I got.
