sure, just be sure your hand or fingers are clear of the blade when closing down as this tool will certainly cut them off as well.

CUTTER HAS JAMBED

Had this cutter for over a year and worked well on 1 1/2 in pipe. Now it will not open. No material in the cutter. How do I get it to open to complete my project?
Asked by: adlib2
Use 'liquid wrench' on pivot points, this is a penetrating oil. let oil soak for 1 day. Then carefully loosen lower single nut on lower blade. These are lock nuts so you don't have to remove them just loosen them. You should be able to then open the jaws unjamming the blade. Tighten nut but do NOT over-tighten. It's difficult without actually seeing the tool to correct your problem.

Can this tool cut a 2 inch schedule 40 pvc pipe?

Asked by: David
Yes. On the 2" pipe I use a hacksaw to score the pipe and put the cutting blade in the score. It helps stabilize the cutter blade. Also put your hands on the end of the arms for better leverage.
