This product simply has not been tested and rated for use with potable water sources.

1 in. PVC-Lock Coupling is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick to install I installed the 3/4 inch PVC-Lock coupling today with ease. My PVC irrigation repair work involved replacing an older water sprinkler valve. I needed to shorten the out-flow PVC pipe by approximately 2 1/4 inches. If I had to use the old "glue" method, then my re-cut measurements had to be pretty accurate. However, the new PVC-Lock coupling allowed me to quickly reconnect the re-cutted pvc piping without being so accurate. I realize that my write-up might not be so well written, but a true DIY'er, who has to replace a coupling 18 inches below the grass line will truly appreciate the painless benefit of using this type of PVC-Lock coupling. Only time will tell, if the quality of the product is good, therefore, I gave an average rating for the quality parameter. I have used Sharkbites, therefore, I was somewhat confidently familiar with the concept and the mechanical capability of this product. Works seamlessly like the Sharkbites.

I was pretty shocked as I only ever use Shark-Bite fittings, however shark-bite doesn't make a PVC to PVC coupling (except for the slip coupling.) So I needed these for my sprinkler system and what can I say? They work! Easy to install - kind of a pain in the rear to remove, but they work!

Just used this for a very pesky situation that involved 1" PVC Schedule 40 on one end and 1" Class 200 on the other end. Due to a booster pump and pressure up to 130 psi, this was a tough job for glue. A compression fitting was doing okay but when I keep mashing the line with my box blade, the compression fitting came apart and is touchy at best to get back together and hold. So I used this and found it is fantastic for thinner wall pipe as well as thick wall pipe. Am a total believer now, don't know why I did not try it before, as I had it already bought and paid for. Great product, easy to use, and give me confidence that there will be no more leaks there until I tear it up again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely challenging to install Do not buy this. If you get it even slightly crooked, it will jam and you will not be able to push it on or take it off. When it is crooked the removal tool does not work. The video is misleading. Even if you get it perfectly straight, it takes a lot of pressure to push or tap it on. Totally unlike my experience with Sharkbite brass fittings for copper, which are very easy to install. If you do manage to get it on, it provides a good seal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best! So easy to use! The compression coupling for the main supply to our sprinkler system failed and we had a gyser in the back yard. I was surprised to find these at Home Depot, since its been a while since I had to do PVC system repairs. I was skeptical at first, but I knew I had my blue cement in case this failed. This worked the first time, and it was super easy. Snap in on both sides, and its good to go. No need to wait for curing and I see no leaks. Hopefully this holds up well, but once snapped it, it does seem very snug.
