2 zones at different times?

Asked by Joshk716 June 8, 2021

Answers

Yes, my landscaper set my timers to two different we times with two different zones so we have two timers running four sprinklers and they go in a round table twice a day for 30 mins a piece. That saves money as well because one comes on for 30 mins then the next then the next then the next and they don’t run at the same time! Water bill is not high and they work wonderfully. The battery is seeming to last forever in them as well.

Can you use the two outlet timer as a single station

Asked by Stephen May 21, 2021

Answers

Yes. I am cuurently using only one station for watering. I closed off the unused outlet with a water cap just in case, though.

How do you remove the battery compartment? Mine seems stuck.

On the back, pinch the thongs on the back of the battery department. If you can't pull it out, use plyers to pull it out

Uusally it takes about one cycle for the timer to take effect. Try the manual button to make sure the water hookups are correct. If it doesn't work then, return it for exchange.

Do I need to install an anti-siphon or is there already one inside the timer?

Asked by 1planter November 24, 2020

No, there is not one installed inside the unit. If you want one you will have to put it prior to the unit on your supply water line.

The default is for both zones to run sequentially for each start time. You have to deselect the zone you don’t want by using station button to maneuver to station you want to deselect and then - button.

In my opinion, a few unnecessary programming features. My standard unit is used for lawn and garden watering and I have not needed anything but this unit.

Broken within 4 months
Under the maximum PSI, and yet in less than four months, the internal joint on one of the two outlets has broken.

Not “off”
This is the second dual timer I’ve purchased. The single timer was great but added more garden beds. Twice now I’ve come home to a very flooded, soupy garden while the second zone is bone dry. Switched the timer to the off position and water was still coming out of soaker hoses. I turned off the water and disconnected the hose from timer. Still in “off” position, I turned on the water and it comes POURING out!! Never again!! This product is trash!

This is actually a great product at the end of the day and I would definitely recommend buying. My only issue is the hose threads are made from plastic making it easy to cross thread. My fix was to install a quick disconnect so you are not constant twisting a hose on and off of it. I have had this for a few weeks now and it works perfect.

Poor build quality
Compared with other 2-outlet timers, this one is very flexibility to setup for 2 outlets separately. The menu is not the most intuitive but manageable. The build quality is very poor, the first one broke after one season because of internal leak. Because I like the flexibility, I bought the 2nd one, and it has the same internal leak issue from the very first use. Very disappointed, could be a great product.

breaks under pressure
I have purchase 2 of the single hose attachment, both of which shut down immediately after the device turns on. I lost a patio of plants assuming the device was functioning properly. One of the devices, if the hose is removed the water continues to flow, but once the hose is connected the water flows for about 3 seconds then shuts off; the next device, timer on water on, no water, if the timer is rotated around on the spigot then the water flows out the output again. It seems like pressure from the water is involved in the problem, but I'm not an expert I just know the timer is trash.

Timer doesn’t work. Water stays on
Have tried multiple times. Have reset. Have changed batteries. Everything. Water won’t stop after end time, just keeps watering. It’s set to water for 18 minutes and it’ll turn in by itself but doesn’t stop after the 18 minute mark. Just waters and waters until I turn the facet off. Super frustrating. Wished I’d read the reviews first.

Turns on but does not turn off
I was suspicious when I opened the package, it appeared that already opened instrument was re-packaged and even the packaging was not completely new. See picture on the remains from older packaging while the outer packaging had split open clean on both sides. I anyway went ahead and connected it to a faucet and set station 1 to start it in 5 minutes with nothing connected ot the outlet - it worked fine. I then connected it to a soaker hose and set it for water the next morning at 6. At 10 i went out and it was still watering with dial showing next start time, I switched the station on and off couple of times to get it to turn off. I setup the whole timer again - tested with station 1 open - it worked fine. I connected it back to the soaker hose and next time again it started on time but did not turn off. It appears that its not able to turn off when there is back pressure at the outlet. I had to go out for a week so will return this back to home depot once I am back. Meanwhile i have left my garden to survive on the previous floods created by this timer.
