Hello LElle, Owens Corning Foamular NGX can be used to insulate a shed type structure to enclose a water filtration system. We recommend referencing section 6.6 of the UL Evaluation Report to ensure your structure meets the requirements to have the Foamular NGX left Exposed. Please see link below. https://database.ul.com/certs/ER8811-01b.pdf We also recommend verifying the appropriate R-value needed for this application, the Foamular Insulation Sheathing provides a thermal value of R-3. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello Bummer, Stucco is compatible to be used with our Foamular NGX products. When using stucco, a drainage layer should be applied in between the Foamular NGX and the metal lath/stucco. The stucco system should not be applied directly to Foamular NGX. We recommend contacting the stucco manufacture for the application of the stucco. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello Scott, Owens Corning Foamular NGX products are combustible and must be covered by a 15-minute thermal barrier such as 1/2" drywall. If adding over drywall, it will need an additional thermal barrier over it. Fasteners for the Foamular NGX and additional thermal barrier must be long enough to penetrate into the joist a minimum of 3/4". Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello TBAR, the R-value of the 1/2" Foamular NGX Insulating Sheathing is a R-3. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello Jerry, Foamular Insulation should be covered as soon as possible after installation. Generally, exposure time should not exceed 60 days. Polystyrene insulation is slowly degraded if exposed to ultraviolet light or sunlight. Left exposed, Foamular insulation will exhibit fading color followed by dusting of the surface which will be brushed away by wind and rain. Exposure of Foamular Insulation during construction does not normally involve sufficient time for any degradation to occur. Thank you for your inquiry.
Hello FOAMBOARDINSULATION, Owens Corning Foamular NGX products have not been tested for use in boats. We cannot provide any recommendations on using our Foamular NGX is this application. Please note Foamular NGX is a combustible material. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello jwdepot, Foamular would only have printing on one side. As you consider installation, performance of Foamular will be the same whether the print side is showing or not. Typically, the print side is showing when installed to assist with product identification. Thank you for your inquiry.
Hello Donn, it is not recommended to use the insulation sheathing as an underlayment product. You would need to apply a sub floor of either ¾” tongue and grove or 2 layers of 7/16” osb with off-set seams. Thank you for your inquiry!
