A:  ABS is a type of plastic material approved by plumbing code. A lot of the consumer products are made of ABS as well as many automotive parts are made of ABS. It is robust and sturdy plastic. Thanks.

Q:i bought a 1/1/4 in. bathroom drain kit. the flange is 1/1/4 in. when i put it in the hole with putty it wont seal

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Rodney. For a regular sink drain there are two possible path for leak. First is below the flange which you can seal using plumber’s putty or gasket. The second is the main gasket that seals into the sink hole from bottom supported by the large nut. If that gaskets is misaligned or not inserted into sink hole properly it could leak. For us to provide best inputs please contact us at sales@pfwaterworks.com with pictures of the product/setup and your contact details. We will do our best to provide suitable support. Thanks.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. It should fit. The flange on top is approx 2 inch wide and the hole on the sink is usually 1.5 to 1-5/8 inch. The tailpiece is 1.25 inch so it should fit. Please contact us at sales@pfwaterworks.com if you have any more questions. Thanks.

Hello Customer - sorry to hear this - the product specifications clearly list it is plastic - and unfortunately we don't have control on the retails online set by algorithms and Home Depot - we have escalated this issue to Home Depot Team and hope they will adjust the retail. Thanks. pfwaterworks

Hello Customer - sorry to see this - the product specifications clearly state that this is Plastic Grid Drain. Not sure about the leak - because for this drain to leak only reason is if the flange doesn't have plumber's putty or gasket below the flange - or the main gasket below the sink is not installed and tightened properly. f you contact us at sales@pfwaterworks.com we can better understand the issue you faced and help address it appropriately. Thanks. pfwaterworks

Looks just like metal. Probably more durable than a thin metal plate. Doesn't get gunked up and cloged like the drains with the built in plug. Bought more for another sink because I liked it so much. Brushed nickel finish looks sharp. Was worried wedding ring could fall down but we tried before we installed and a ring is too thick to fit through.

Response from PF WaterWorksSep 3, 2022
Hello Pete, in regards to your comment about low quality product - we sincerely do not agree with it because the listing clearly states that this is a ABS material drain not metal or brass - if you want those, we also offer those on Home Depot.com but for a much higher price. Also, for your reference ABS is a standard material approved by plumbing code and also is superior in many ways to the metal as it doesn't rush or corrode - for the passive drain parts, it makes an excellent material choice - and that is why most OEM pop-up and sink drains now are made of ABS. Also ABS is used for many other day to day applications for the same reasons - the finish doesn't wear out and it is strong - a lot of the parts in today's cars including handles, mirror covers and bumpers are made of ABS. Hope this helps. Thanks. pfwaterworks
