About This Product

The new Portacool Cyclone 160 is a versatile, powerful portable cooling solution designed to help professionals stay safe and productive on the jobsite during the work week. The Cyclone 160 generates significant airflow and cooling via the natural process of evaporation. Simply plug into a standard outlet and roll where needed to provide a cost-effective cooling option where standard air conditioning is impractical or cost prohibitive.

  • Effectively cools up to 2,100 sq. ft. - for example, a jobsite with 10-15 workers or a barn with two to three stalls
  • 8,000 CFM of cooling comfort, water level indicator clearly shows how much water is left in the 8 Gal. reservoir and red LED on the control panel lets you know when water has been fully consumed
  • Dual water fill options allow for manual fill or direct hose connection for continuous, long-term use
  • Kuul comfort evaporative media is designed exclusively to meet the rigorous performance requirements of PORTACOOL portable evaporative coolers
  • Made in center, Texas, in the PORTACOOL manufacturing facility, this media is the driving force behind our superior cooling performance
  • Kuul comfort evaporative media is more efficient than any other portable evaporative cooling media
  • More efficiency means more cooling - no matter the relative humidity; our media creates a noticeable temperature drop in any climate
  • Maintenance is a snap, see owners manual PDF for more information

Q:how do you control the temperature with just one fan speed?
    by|Aug 31, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  The Portacool Cyclone 160 is only one speed for the fan, but the temperature drop of the air coming out of the Portacool can be adjusted by the amount of water going over the media. If the media is dry, then there will be no change in the air temperature. If the media is saturated, the air temperature will drop as the water evaporates.

Q:Can I use this in a warehouse in Texas?
      by|Jul 10, 2022
      3 Answers
      Answer This Question

A:  The short answer is yes, Portacool evaporative coolers will work in large warehouses. Evaporative coolers are designed to work best in areas not easily cooled by traditional air conditioning. This means ideal spaces have access to ambient air via open bays, doors, or windows. While there are some environments conducive to evaporative cooling use in an enclosed building, the cooler is not going to operate at its highest efficiency. In some instances, running an evaporative cooler in a closed environment could make the room or building warmer by increasing the humidity level. Our warehouse, located in East Texas, utilizes our Portacools to help keep our team cool all summer long!

      by|Jul 11, 2022

A:  I'm in a metal building with lousy insulation located in Oregon. The interior temp of this building during the summer is unbearable so that's why I bought it. It definitely gives relief, and feels great when it is being blown directly at you. It does add some humidity and adds the smell of wet cardboard, because the air is being forced through wet cardboard more or less. If you are looking to cool a work area right where the workers are, yes... go for it. If you are looking to cool a room, it isn't an air conditioner.

                Awesome cooler.
I bought this bad boy about a month ago and I use it everyday! I love it, my neighbors come over to stand in front of it and they love it. I have a very large garage and it really helps me work out in the garage all day long.

Got this unit on sale at Home Depot. Works great for a patio in the Texas 95 degree humid heat. Cools down our sitting area at least 15 degrees. Just completed its first tank cleaning. Yes, I recommend.

I have a 2500 Sq ft garage and right out of the box, it works great. It cools down the space and now it is a pleasure to work in the garage during the hot summer months.

Ordered this for my warehouse which gets brutally hot in the summer. I can feel a difference it lasts about 4 hours when full. When needing it for 2 shifts, we do have to fill up 3-4 times to keep both shifts comfortable. Other than that it was an easy set up and is fairly easy to fill. Does what it's supposed to.

                    Don't Risk it!
Bought this and 4 months later, the motor went out because the cables corroded at the motor connection since they're not protected from moisture. Completed the painful process of filing a claim and received a new motor 2 weeks later. Put it in and started it up and the "new" motor immediately overheats and trips the GFI outlet. Had to run out and buy 4 smaller ones of another brand this past weekend to avoid losing 4,800 baby chicks. Not worth risking it!
