First oa all, I really like the Nailer you are considering. I replaced all my flooring with 1/2" hardwood and the nailer worked perfectally. The hardwood supplier should tell you which size cleet you should use. I would go with their suggestion.
no. you need a standard nailer. This will only go up to nailing 1/2 inch woods
Hey there, Stan. Thanks for the question! The Model 2000F only drives 20-gauge, L-shaped cleat nails in lengths from 1" to 1-1/4". If you need to use 18-gauge, L-shaped cleat nails and want a trigger-pull tool check out the Powernail Model 50F. It is the same style tool as the 2000F, but it drives 18-gauge L-cleats and accepts 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" lengths.
I don't think so. It's a special nail and I used it on 9/16 cherry wood flooring. Installed last year. All is good.
it depends on thickness of wood. not of kind . with this nailer u can do up to 1/2 inch
no, u dont want to nail or glue any floating floor. it will damage floor
This nailer can definitely be used to install click-lock flooring and Uniclic flooring. The tool's one-piece, Flex Foot allows you to fasten the "groove" side of a click-lock profile. Powernail's F-Series tools (2000F, 1845F and 50F) rest on the top of your floor board and not the subfloor when in use. This allows the user to place a fastener flush on the groove side of the floor board and does not interfere when the next board is being 'clicked' into place.
This tool is great for very thin and very brittle species of wood flooring. For a 1/2" white oak, we strongly suggest using an 18-gauge cleat nail (1.5" in length) and an 18-gauge nailer. White oak is definitely a hard species of wood, but our 18-gauge cleat is perfect for that hardness and you won't risk splitting tongues. The 18-gauge fastener will also give you additional length to penetrate through the bottom layer of your sub-floor for a tighter hold. At 8" wide, you will definitely want to use a glue-assist type installation that includes both fasteners as well as a bead of adhesive on the back of the floor boards. This will help reduce your risk of cupping, crowning or shifting boards. Always refer to the flooring manufacturer's installation specifications before proceeding with your install. They may suggest an alternate method that ensures your floor's warranty and supersedes our recommendations.
The nail gun “foot” is adjustable to fit deferent size floor blanks.
Use the 1" cleat for that size. I bet that will fix your problem.
Hello there Tom, Our Powernailer model 50P is an excellent tool for installing Bamboo Flooring. It drives an 18 gauge cleat in lengths from 1" to 1-3/4". I suggest calling the manufacturer of your bamboo and asking if their warranty will allow for an 18-gauge cleat. If so, you cannot do any better than our model 50P.
This machine only drives a 20 gauge L-Cleat and Powernail 20ga HD Powercleats are currently the only 20ga cleats on the market.
