Asbestos Test Kit

Jury is still out on this. I am giving this only 3 stars because the company has NOT met the deadline for results that they clearly state on their packaging "e-mail/text results within 5 days". I gave them my e-mail address. I sent the test kit samples in via the Priority Mail envelope provided. I received the notification that the samples were picked up on Jan. 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM which means by Jan 30th, I should have had a reply and allowing an extra full day, I should have had the results yesterday. I know that the company charged my credit card which the information for that was contained in the envelope with the sample. I don't think that companies should make statements like "results within 5 days" if they cannot and do not meet the deadline that they attest to.

My sister was worried the tile in this house might have asbestos since it was built 2 years after that was banned. I chipped off some tile and mailed it in. It was nice being able to collect the sample myself, instead of hiring an expensive team. The kit is basically a few ziplock bags and a pre-paid envelope. You can pay online or mail in payment with the sample. Results were emailed to me.

Process works fine. Test kit easy to use and got desired results back from lab. However it is not a quick process. The test kits are not on the shelf at Home Depot. It has to be ordered which takes about 3 days. Once the kit is received the sample is sent to testing lab which took 5 days. Once the lab acknowledged receipt of the samples it took 8 business days to receive test results. So overall all you get the results you need but it takes 20 days to get it. It is not a fast turnaround.

Worked well. Received results on time as quoted on their paperwork. I wasn’t the biggest fan of needing to write my credit card information on a piece of paper to pay for it. I wish there was an online payment option.

Amazing East and fast

Turnaround on the test results was as quick as advertised. Very thorough breakdown of the elements detected in the samples I sent. However, there was no explanation of the results. The attached photo shows the report I received. I means pretty much nothing to me. I had to email PRO-LAB, asking for an explanation of the results. To their credit, they responded very quickly with a clear explanation of how to interpret the report.

Super easy to use with great instructions. The fast testing service is top notch.

It was easy to use and send off to the lab. Beats paying companies Hundredes of dollars to just come out to your house.
