This variety of hydrangea is one that blooms on new wood. This is very important in knowing what varietys to trim when. Because this is a new wood blooming variety it can be trimmed after it flowers or next year in the early spring when you start to see new growth coming in. Unlike other hydrangeas that grown on old wood, you’ll have flowers ever year no matter what. This variety can be trimmed as much as you want, have heavy snow damage and still flower summer after summer. Just make sure to wait in spring for some green growth on stems before deciding if a branch is dead and needs to be cut out. Also trim the dead stems 6” down if your not sure if it’s truly dead and look for a bit of white and green flesh, if you see that, then it’s alive. If it’s dry and brittle keep cutting it out.

Hey bean, It will defiantly be a gamble, the Inrediball Smooth Hydrangea likes moderate water and may get root rot if left in water. However, there are ways that you can prevent this by creating a micro-climate for your plant and raising the root ball to prevent water from pooling near the plant. If you would like more details, feel free to contact us at 734-654-7485. Happy planting, Jade

CAN THIS PLant grow in part shade and how many hours sun

I've yet to meet a hydrangea that loves full sun. Part sun, part shade is best, especially if the part sun in morning sun. They will survive either way but they will visibly need water almost daily if in full sun. I planted 2 of these as babies in front of my front porch in the hopes of creating some privacy. By the second season they were as tall as me (5'7"). Very satisfying. BUT, the descriptions always say the big heavy blooms don't make the bush droop. Not true, I had to do some serious staking. I used that green stretchy tape. I'm along the shore in RI.

Hi Nicole, The best time to plant shrubs is in the spring and fall. Wait until the threat of frost is gone in the spring and you have up until 6 weeks before the ground freezes in the fall to plant. If you have any other questions, feel free to call our hotline at (734) 654-7485. Best regards, Amanda

How do I get my limelights to bloom? I have one large bloom on one plant. None on the other.?

Asked by Rebecca July 23, 2018

Limelights like sun so be sure they get enough and don't prune them back. Pull off the spent flower balls in February so new ones will form.

How many should one buy to put in flower bed in front of house? What’s the typical amount people buy?

One is good if you want a featured plant in front. For more of a mass look 3 would be good.

Very small and immature plant for gallon container
PW has been nothing but disappointment lately. I ordered 9 plants so far. They are all very small and immature for the price they are charging. I will be returning all of them.

I sought out this gorgeous hydrangea because I saw it on a gardening show on YT. It works in my zone so yay me! I was attracted to the large ball of white flower blooms. It arrived well packaged and leaves were visible. I planted it and it’s growing quickly. I expect next year I will have blooms.

Plants arrived quickly, and boxed securely. Very little foliage as they were dormant. A couple of weeks after being planted in late March and benefiting from the rainy Atlanta spring they are thriving! Very pleased.

The hydrangea arrived well packed and ready to plant. We did have to trim off a few broken stems and support a couple others that were bent (probably were damage in shipping.) I liked that there were many flower buds on the plant when we got it. It bloomed but the flowers weren't quite as big as I expected. We're hoping that next year's bloom will be bigger since the plant will be well established in its new home.

I received this Hydrangea in Feb. 2019 & it was fast shipping & packaged very well....no damage at all. It had bare branches but after planting it was growing in no time. It has started getting blooms right now & it's April 26, 2018....they haven't developed into flowers yet but soon. I'm very excited & can't wait until it has full blooms. I would recommend buying from Home Depot to everyone. I have ordered quite a lot & haven't been disappointed.

Beautiful Big White Ball Flower With Big Green Leaves
I received this healthy 3 gallon Incrediball Hydrangea plant four days ago with healthy big green leaves. The company already pruned the plant for me for the winter. Hydrangea's need water and more water during the summer months. They are extremely hardy plant that gets to five to six feet in height and four to five feet wide. If you let them go they can get a lot bigger if that's what you want. This particular plant has white ball flowers but you can get them Niko blue by adding acidic additives to make your soil more acidic. This plant also comes in Niko blue which I already have a couple of these plants. They do need some shade during the summer because the leaves will get burnt around the edges. This plant will stand up to New England's winters. This is a very hardy plant that gives you great color and blooms beautifully late summer.
