Can it survive in Arkansas

Asked by Evelyn August 12, 2019

Answers

Probably; they are hardy well below any cold temperature you are likely to experience. The primary issue will be if you are in zone 9 or higher in which case summer heat and humidity will be a terminal problem. They do not do particularly well west of the Mississippi except possibly in some areas of Washington, Oregon, and California.

When is it the best time to plant it?

Asked by Nana November 3, 2018

Answer

Hi Nana, I recommend planting Yuki Cherry Blossom in the spring or the fall. Be sure the threat of frost is gone before planting in the spring and you can safely plant in the fall up to 6 weeks before the first frost. If you have any other questions, feel free to call our hotline at (734) 654-7485. Best regards, Amanda

Can this grow in zip code 92555?

Asked by Alfred July 1, 2018
1
Answer

Hello Alfred, Zip code 92555 is within hardiness zone 9b. The Yuki Cherry Blossom is hardy in zones 5 thru 8, so it may not perform at its best in your area, or even survive. However, we do have many other varieties plants that would do fantastic in hardiness zone 9, like the Aphrodite Sweetshrub. If you have any additional questions, please contact us directly at (734) 654-7485. Happy planting, Jared.

My Yuki Cherry Blossom was ordered on 6/28 and delivered on 7/6/20. I open without any delay and my first impressions are very good. The packing is good and the plant looks healthy. No dead leaves and even some flower buds can be seen. My review cannot be truly completed until I can see how the plant survive and thrive and that the reason why I didn’t include the fifth star. All in all, I’m quite happy with the purchase.

So far so good
I had never ordered a plant online before. Came in today looking beautiful. No flowers yet but very healthy looking. Cherry blossom is the center plant. Fresh in the ground, with some mulch.

I’ve always purchased my plants at garden centers and nurseries so I can choose healthy, beautiful plants. This is the first time I’ve ordered a plant online. I took the chance because I’ve purchased other Proven Winners plants and never had a problem. I ordered the plant on July 26 and it was delivered on Aug 1. It arrived looking half dead with lots of dead leaves in the box. I compared the plant to the pictures online and it looked like the dormant plant pictured (Nov-Mar) and nothing like it should’ve in August. I cannot express how disappointing this experience was.

Late summer I bought 3 of the Yuki cherry blossom shrubs for 2 reasons: they like shade and they are labeled deer resistant. Unfortunately, they are not deer resistant where I live. In fact, the deer ate all three scrubs down to the ground...absolutely nothing left but nubbins. I'm so disappointed, I wanted to see those gorgeous blossoms this spring. I may dig up what's left of the plant (roots) and see if I can save them to my front yard.

I ordered the Yuki Cherry Blossom in August and it arrived wilted and the leaves were gooey. While I knew it would survive after cutting off the damaged leaves, I was admittedly disappointed. I soon learned that Proven Winners wants satisfied customers when they contacted me, offering a replacement. I eagerly agreed and soon received a beautiful Yuki Blossom. It was lush, green and absolutely gorgeous - I couldn't be happier! I can't wait for next spring to see the pink blossoms. Thank you Proven Winners for providing beautiful plants and your exceptional customer service!

A beautiful addition to our landscaping
OMG it is growing and has tiny buds already!!! I was concerned by the temperature here in Pennsylvania and it seems to like it here so far. It looked small but in good condition when I got it and it is a very healthy specimen. It is thriving and I am excited to smell its flowers and so are my hummingbirds. Plant arrived alive and very healthy. We planted outside with mulch and the plants are doing fine. The packaging was also very good. It was packed wonderfully and came in a secured box with air holes. Would definitely recommend & may order another!

Great Shrub for our Stoop
This is a classy little shrub that looks great on the front porch. It had some nice white blooms on it when it was delivered. However, they fell off after about 2 weeks. It came in a proper shipping box that covered the pot in plastic to ensure the soil would not leak out. We chose to pot it in a medium size planter for the front porch. We are very happy with and it looks great!

beautiful
I was so excited to receive this shrub in full bloom. As soon as I opened the box, the colors were vibrant and promised what I will see next spring. Sadly, the blossoms have already fallen off for the most part, but it will come back strong next year and in the meanwhile is a lovely shrub among my other garden plants. The packaging was great too. The plant arrived safe and secure, ready for planting.
