A:  I don't know. There is a picture of the information card provided by Proven Winners on the Home Depot product page. I would guess that tag may get more scrutiny than a website description. It says 4.5-6 feet. I think I would go with that. Mine are only about a year old so I can't tell you how big they will actually get.

A:  Hi DaniLinda, Thank you for asking! Proven Winners Fire Light Hydrangea blooms on new wood each year. For best performing conditions, it should receive full sun in zones 3-7; afternoon shade is preferable in warmer areas. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com or (734) 654-7485. Kind Regards, Nikki

A:  Hello, Pinklover; I don't see why you couldn't...I'm not an expert by any means, but seems to me that if you're going from areas such as mine, where it does get colder, you should be able to plant where it is not as cold; if you cover and protect your plantings in bitter cold, it should be fine. That said, I don't know why it wouldn't work for you. Good luck! It's a beautiful hydrangea!

A:  Hi Pinklover, Thank you for asking. Proven Winners Fire Light Hardy is hardy in zones 3-8. Check out our Quick Fire Hydrangea for zone 9! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com or at (734)654-7485 Kindest, Allie

          by|Mar 22, 2021

A:  You can always try. Where you may run into issues is that zone 9a is warm over winter and this is a deciduous plant, so if it cant go into dormancy, it will not do well.

            A:  So far yes

My hydrangea arrived VERY nicely protected, especially as FedEx had just tossed it onto my porch on its side! Barely any dirt escaped, and the bag/box design kept it well protected (photo is when it first arrived). Our weather has been insane this season, so it hung out in the house a few days before it was warm enough and took very well to the ground and is sprouting everywhere. I'm still having to randomly cover it as we are *still* occasionally getting freezes, but it's a hardy little guy and is hanging in there well and growing! Very happy and I'm hoping I can keep it protected until it's fully able to take care of itself outside!

              My 3 year old plants
My Fire Lights (2 of them) are 3 years old now and look at them! Huge! They are nearing 7 feet tall and gorgeous! They get morning sun and afternoon shade in zone 7a. This photo was taken in early September, so they are turning from pinkish to reddish now. It is so nice to watch them turn from white to pink to red over the course of a year.

Happy to receive a healthy plant. I also ordered a 4.5 in. pinky winky, they look exactly the same for me. As others mentioned, this is a very tiny plant which means maybe no flowers for the first year or two. I knew that when I ordered it, so I was not disappointed. Planted on the ground right after I received it, looks doing well so far.

This Hydrangea came in great shape, well branched with leaves a-plenty (in early May). Mine had a little stray branch hanging low and I have not cut it off. Maybe next season if it starts looking too weird. It has been in the ground for a couple weeks now and is doing great. I bought the gallon size, and it is about 18" tall. The root ball was incased in a plastic bag and placed in the pot. This made it very easy to extract for planting. I am anxious to see if the flowers are as beautiful as the pictures show on the website. I will wait patiently. So far it is healthy and happy.

The plants were packed perfectly. So nice to be able to get something that wasn't in the store, directly shipped to my house. I planted them a few days after receiving them and they are growing beautifully. Very happy with this purchase and may buy all of my garden plants this way from now on - it was a great experience!

This is a nice and attractive hydrangea shrub. We also have the "white" equivalent hydrangea (Bobo Hardy Hydrangea) which looks great but I'm sure this fire light version will be much more attractive next summer with its color-changing blooms. We received the plant in great shape but without blooms as its the end of the season. The leaves look very good and healthy. I planed this shrub next to two other hydrangeas where they will get morning sun for approx 5 hours and then afternoon shade. I can't wait to see them grow to a 3-4 foot height. Just make sure you remove the plant from the moisture-preserving plastic bag that its placed in (see pics), otherwise you risk losing it.
