Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Please refer to the installation guide for a complete how-to guide on proper installation of your Palruf panels. The only accessories needed are Palruf Flashings, vertical and horizontal closure strips, along with EPD washered fasteners to complete your project.

Q:do I need to use these when installing the roof panels or can I just put the panels down?

      Answer This Question

A:  We always recommend crown fastening of the panels rather than valley fastening. In order to do this properly a closure strip should be utilized and is required for warranty purposes.

Q:What is the best glue used to attach this closures to PVC ? and what primer for painting purposes? Thank you all.
        by|May 2, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  The closures are typically held in place by the fasteners which pass through both the panel and the closure (they can also be tacked down to the framing to hold them in place if needed while installing the panels). We typically do not recommend painting our panels but if you wish to do so choose a paint formulated to work with pvc and follow the paint manufacturers instructions. Keep in mind that painting a PVC panel can adversely affect the panel if it causes significant heat to build up.

I have a double deck and wanted to stop the rain from dripping from the top deck to the bottom deck so I could install better furniture on that deck. So I mounted the roofing on the top of my lower deck. The strips made is very easy to my install my ridged roof. It lines up perfectly, matching the curves of the roofing. The ends could snap together which allowed me an extra hand to hold the screws with.

          My Greenhouse project
This is the first time I ever used the Horizontal Plastic Closure Strips and found them to make the roof installation a lot easier. The strips were easy to install and lay out for the Sun-Turf roof panels. I like the way it seals the end gaps and supports the panels/fasteners . I highly recommend this product when installing these roof panels.

I started using them 3 years ago to attach Palruf clear covers over my firewood. One firewood section blew off duing the December wind storms. I only had attached them on both ends & the middle of a 12' piece. I bought more & added 2 more attachment boards. Thank you Palruf for a quality product.
