About This Product
This WhisperFit DC Fan features a a dimmable 10W LED light with 1W night light for warm, energy-efficient illumination. A built-in energy-efficient ECM (DC) motor with Pick-A-Flow airflow selector allows you to select required airflow (50, 80, or 110 CFM). Single-hinged Flex-Z Fast bracket, pre-installed alignment guides, and temporary clip allow for flexible, fast, and easy installation. This vent fan enables you to utilize existing duct, while its low profile housing design ensures a proper fit in any bathroom ceiling or other areas of a home with at least 5 5/8" depth. The slide and snap-in junction box and duct collar provide greater flexibility when wiring and attaching the duct, and this premium ceiling ventilation fan now includes preinstalled plastic alignment guides and temporary retaining clip. These clips molded into the casting will allow the fan to stay in place while the installer fastens the fan into can.

Are led light bulbs easily replaceable?
No, the LED light in the WhisperFit DC/LED fan is not a replaceable bulb. It uses a built-in 10W dimmable LED chip panel rated for 50,000 hours of use, designed for long life and energy efficiency.
Does it have a built-in damper?
Yes, this fan does come with a backdraft damper.
Followed directions twice, installed it, but not only is it loud (50 db) but air blows out of the grill opposite of the duct. The flapper is free moving, but no air is being blow out. Did I miss something in the directions, or why is my fan not sucking
Typically if the fan is blowing air out of the grill rather than sucking air out of the bathroom than there is an issue with the backdraft damper between the fan and the ducting. We tape all backdraft dampers in place and if the tape is not removed on install then the damper will not swing open to allow the air to move freely into the ducting. The same can also happen if the ducting is screwed to the adaptor and a screw keeps the damper from opening.
Is the LED light replaceable
After an extended wait I spoke with a helpful Panasonic product support tech. He confirmed that this unit DOES NOT use traditional LED bulbs. The LED array IS user replaceable. It's covered under the 5 yr warranty. But retain you receipt! $73.00 09/2025
How many lumens is this light?
Approximately 700 lumens at 3000K warm white.
Does it need drywall to hold any part of the fan? I have a 12x12 cutout from a current fan, and I am wondering if the Flex z bracket will hold fan and the 13x13 grill is big enough to cover the hole in my ceiling.
The fan would screw to the flange without having sheetrock in place. The problem you will have is with air sealing as the cold or warm attic air will have an easy path into the living space if there is no sheetrock in place. If you are in between floors I would say you are alright but if it is in the attic I would not suggest this install. The 13"x13" grill should be enough to cover you cutout.
What make and model of automatic sensor can I add to control the night light
Unfortunately we don't have a control that would automatically control the night light, and can not keep up on all of the 3rd party switches that other manufacturers produce. This may be a better question for your Home Depot electrical associate.
can this exhaust fan be installed in a drop ceiling?
Yes, the Panasonic WhisperFit DC/LED fan (like the FV-0511VFL1) can be installed in a drop ceiling (suspended ceiling).
