How many Yukon wall caps do I need for a 70 ft. Linear wall. Of that length, 5 feet is a curve.

How do you recommend spanning gaps? For instance, using the large RockWall blocks when creating an inward turn the gaps on the outside edge between the blocks becomes quite large leaving only air and no place to secure or hold up the cap.

Well, it doesn't seem anyone has an answer for this so this is how I did it if you are interested. I bought some metal strap ties to span the wider gaps where the cap blocks would have fallen in. I also mortared the sides to the adjacent block.

How many would I need for 70 feet

    Answer This Question

You would need approximately 245 caps for a 70-foot wall. This is based on the standard width of the cap being 4.25 inches. Calculation: (70 ft * 12 in/ft) / 4.25 in/cap = 244.7 caps. Since you can't buy parts of a cap, round up to 245. Keep in mind that this calculation assumes a straight wall. If your wall has curves or corners, you may need additional caps.

For a cheaper option they work fine they are not all same size for caps or same width blocks have different problem the back lip is often missing or different thickness so have to work to keep straight like I said for cheaper option they work

Bought the wall block we ended up building three walls each about 40 feet long. We wanted to finish look so we bought the coordinating toppers. They are only 4 inches across the front and 2 inches across the back therefore it takes two of them to cover six linear inches and they cost $2.50 apiece. This is not a bargain in anyone’s book.

The caps are very easy to handle because they are so small. I paired them with retaining wall blocks that were 6" high, 9" deep and 18" wide (MOL) and the color matched well. The small size is both a blessing and a curse, though. It's a blessing because this wall has several curves, which makes the smaller size caps ideal for matching the curve. With a straight line, you can lay them side by side and alternate the 2" side with the 4.25" sides to achieve a straight run. If you have a 90 degree (or other) jog in the wall, you can put four or five caps with the 4.25" sides together to make the arc. I had recently constructed a different retaining wall that used similar blocks and had caps that were identical width and depth. This wall was a straight shot, and it was easy to match up the caps with the blocks. The curse of the small pavestone caps is that on straight runs (or curves) you meed to expend more effort to ensure that the continuous cap surface is level. It's less of a challenge with the larger blocks. I ordered 400+ of these blocks and they were delivered to my home on a pallet. There were perhaps two that had broken at some point during transit, so I'd call them well made.

Yukon concrete wall cap is very versatile. I liked the rugged rock like look. Since it narrow at one end and wider at the other they can be stacked to interlock. I used them to level out the top of a rock wall that of varying heights and also curves around a corner

Easily placed the stone border around the tree for landscaping. The curves allowed for making an non-circle design.

Get all pieces before you start!!!
The sierra blend is apparently no longer available. I built a wall with the sierra blend block and now the wall cap is no longer sold unless I order an entire pallet. It’s unfathomable to me that I spent so much time and money on a project and can’t finish it.

Not uniformly cut but the shape was unique.

      Wall Cap
These worked well with the matching wall block and I only needed to cut one for the curve. The edges of the blocks fit well and I only had to set aside a few when pulling off the pallet in store due to chips. If only doing straight runs, then a wider block would be a better option.

Very nice paver caps, conforms to any radius wall or fire pit ??. Just make sure you buy enough of them to finish the job / project.

        Wish they made some bigger
I've used these on multiple projects. They're flexible in that you can alternate them to go straight and you can also use them for curves. I get why they're made the way they are, but it would be nice if they also offered large flat blocks to more easily cover long flat stretches. You need 4 of these to cover a linear foot. Not cost effective for long straight segments. Also, be aware the colors of palomino will fade over time. They'll lighten up.
