Poolside Fireplace
Great bang for the buck. Relatively simple to build although an angle grinder and some metal shim stock were required. Added a fireplace screen and chimney cap for added safety. At $3K it’s a bargain compared to similar products out there. It took about 24 man hours building it myself. I give it a big thumbs up.

Overall good but could be better
I have waited about 6 weeks since we built the fireplace to post a review so that I had some time to give a solid assessment. Since we live in Buffalo where the winters can be a bit extreme, I put in the "option #2" foundation with the (4) Sonotube supports. I dug and poured this myself and this was by far the toughest part of the project. The build of the fireplace itself was a fun project as we pulled our 3 kids in and everyone helped with the build. We spent about 14 hrs. over 3 days to complete the fireplace. Overall, we love the fireplace but it does have some pro's and con's: - Pro's 1) Overall, it's a good value. I looked at other options and all were $5k or more. 2) The kit was well put together -- not a single broken block out of the 5 skids. The block count was just right with a few extra of each size. 3) I expected the firebox and chimney to be more like thin sheet metal but they are made of heavy guage plate which was pretty impressive. 4) It looks great -- we've received more compliments about the fireplace than any other home improvement we have made. Con's: 1) The firebox could be deeper -- it is fairly shallow which makes it more prone to embers blowing out of the firebox with the wind. The fireplace is large--I am surprised they couldn't squeeze a few more inches of depth. 2) The instructions were a bit of a joke. Good layer by layer graphics but there are a ton of things they could have told me that would have made things easier and resulted in a better end product. Things like how to support the overhanging blocks at certain points, how much glue to apply, etc. It is obvious that Home Depot wanted to have an out by stating "professional installation required". They wanted to give DIY'ers enough info to squeeze by without giving full details where they would be fully liable for issues. Words of wisdom -- pay attention to level and plumb starting with the first layer. I wish now that I had slowed down a bit and checked these more. Also--have some jigs ready to support the overhanging areas. I had to build those on the fly and it was rushed. I have attached a photo of our end product. I added the chimney cap and the monogram on the front. Overall, we had fun with this project --go for it!

Anyone have this issue?
the product looks great in everyone's pictures and it seems everyone had an easy time building it. I moved the stone to the back yard started the first layer and noticed the thickness of my large stones aren't the same. Some stone upwards of 1 inch to wide. It seems like 3 vertical stones should be the same size as 2 horizontal stones. This isn't the case for me.

Love it!
Easy to install! Tip: print out diagram in color It was easy to follow the diagram. After several trips bring the bricks into the backyard, it took a total of 3 days to build alone. It definitely requires more adhesive than what is included. Built a topper to cover the top of the chimney to prevent embers from flying out with smoke exiting from sides.

This kit is AMAZING!! I was able to do this by myself as a 34 year old female! The directions are pictures and remind me of a giant LEGO set. This looks absolutely amazing in my back yard and every single person that has seen it complements on it. This fireplace has made my backyard into a paradise and couldn't have asked for anything more! Thank you Home Depot for putting this kit out!

Love this Fireplace!
An outdoor upright fireplace has been on my home owners dream list for a long time and I think this came out amazing! We purchased it on the special buy and 55.00 shipping to our rural home for 6 pallets was beyond an amazing deal. We ordered the fireplace and got the specs for the pad online and poured our pad prior to the kit arriving so we would be ready to go. Me and my husband assembled it in about a day and a half. The directions were crazy like a big LEGO project so we found it easier if I looked at the layout, positioned the pieces and my husband would glue and level. Once we got it going it went pretty fast. We found the chimney to be the most difficult area with leveling. We also loved one of the photos from the other reviews and also added a mantel. The overall look and quality exceeds my expectations. This is tumbled block so all blocks are not perfect which adds to the overall rustic look. Our fireplace color is cafe. We did buy 6 extra tubes of the adhesive as recommended by other reviewers . ❤️❤️❤️ I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this PaveStone outdoor fireplace and what we found to be a really fun DIY project!

Perfect DYI fireplace
I was more than skeptical when I purchased this fireplace. I definitely enjoy a good DYI project but have to admit I was intimidated by this project. But I have to say it went so smooth and turned out beautiful. I kept saying dang this is going way easier than I thought it would. It took us 4 adults and 3 hours to complete the project. We did have a new patio poured 10 days prior so our surface was very level to start. Which I’m sure is key. I purchased 2 benches as well and added a complete look. I ordered it at 5 days later it arrived way earlier than expected. We cut up the pallets to use that evening for our first fire.

I am really impressed with this kit, it turned out great. Value wise I don’t think you can do any better. I did a small amount of customization by adding a 6” x 4” wood mantel that was made easy by the standard 2x4 sizing of the small bricks. The kit is easy enough for an inexperienced DIY’er.
