There is little red hue in the blocks. The colors are true to earth hues, sand, grey, hint of orange, they compliment each other very well. The project once completed makes a statement in your yard! We are very pleased with the Sierra Blend.

Yes, look up EasyFirePits and check out their Gas Kits and Marine Grade Stainless Steel Gas Burners. You can convert any wood burning fire feature into a propane or natural gas burning one safely and easily in a matter of minutes with their stuff! Also a lot of tips and tricks and Q&A to help with the gas conversion process.

That sure about extending it to be taller but, what I did was add a "stainless steel" chimney cap. One for function and the other for looks, worked out great.

Easy to put together. Agree that glue must be purchased separately. We added pieces of cut limestone to help customize it. My husband did all of it himself, with exception of me helping to add limestone which was heavy. We plan to seal it to bring out colors (first pic is with stone wet). We also may finish off top with smaller pieces.

Stones arrived on box truck with lift gate. One crate of stones had overturned onto another crate of stones. My husband and truck driver had to restack both crates of stone before they could be unloaded. My husband had to use his tractor with forks to unload crates from truck. After removing shrink wrap from stones on pallets, we discovered over half of stones had really bad corners. These are obviously bad stones that couldn't be sold at Home Depot individually. Pavestone has done their image a big disservice to market these stones in a fireplace kit. I would not recommend this fireplace kit to anyone. One star would be too high a rating.

The product arrived on 6 pallets. The packaging of the firebox and chimney was insufficient and caused several gouges into the paint to expose raw metal where the had collided during shipping, requiring some touch up paint (hoping to avoid rust). Luckily the gouges we're not niticeabln once installed. The assembly is pretty straightforward, with one major issue - the mini blocks are repeatedly stacked 4 high in the plan and that stack is supposed to align with one square block. The stack of 4 is consistently short by about 1/4", which causes the level to be entirely off row after row. I had to find 1/8" metal to shim between each mini blocks in the stack to make up the height. This was extra work and expense but the 1/8" gap is small enough to not be noticeable. They need to adjust the sizes or design to account for this. The assembled product looks good if you watch the level and make the compensation for the block size, but it takes a lot more effort than advertised.
