There is a website for Pavestone where you can plug in your measurement and it will give you the number of pavers needed. You can also use combination of different sizes. Just Google the name and you will find it.

Can these be used for a shallow planter box?

I don't see why not, however, I would plan on using some sort of adhesive/mortar to secure them as they do not interlock nor weigh all that much.

How many pavers, bags of leveling sand & bags of paver base do I need for a 12 x 10 area?

Asked by Shari July 8, 2017

Answers

A proper install requires excavation of several inches of soil and 4-6" of base topped with 1" of sand. 12x10 is 120 square feet. 1" of sand would be 10 cubic feet of sand or 20 - .5 cf bags of sand. The same calculations apply to base so at 4" you would need 4 times that many bags of base or 80 - .5 cf bags of base. I would advise buying both of these in bulk if that is an option, it is far far cheaper that way. The pavers depend upon the pattern you use (are you using the other 2 sizes as well or just this size). Just this size would be roughly 700 pavers plus about another 10-15% for waste (all depends on your pattern), ending up at 770-800 (you can always return excess stones as well). You should also plan on some sort of retainer around the outside edges.

These are classy, brownish red, and are purposefully distressed. They are strong, and I used them in a small retaining wall for my flower bed and they work wonderfully. I only stacked them up 2 or 3 high and used silicon adhesive to stick them together. A low cost but highly attractive brick.

Easy to lay, looks very nice. Took about 6 hrs to lay a 440 sq ft patio (over existing concrete). Only one issue. We ordered 4 pallets and one of pallets was not the same quality as the other three. They were over rumbled and falling apart. They also didn't have the same color blend as the rest. Luckily we had the other three which were great and we ordered extra so we were able to mix them with the good ones and it looks good.

Excellent
We used these stones as paver stones along with the matching 7 in. square stones and the 10.5 in. x 7 in. stones. The perfect look we were looking for. Easy to install and thick enough to walk on without moving. We mixed all 3 of them at random. My photos do not do the stones justice. The photos are washed out. The actual stones have a lot more rich earth tone color to them. I highly recommend them.
