About This Product

Peak Stair Risers is the hassle-free solution for building sturdy outdoor stairs for your patio or deck. Say goodbye to complicated cuts and separate stair stringers. With our innovative 1-piece design, assembling stairs has never been easier. Our steel stair stringers only require 2 risers for deck stairs up to 48 in. wide. Engineered with heavy-duty tubular steel and plate steel, our stair risers prioritize safety and durability. The powder-coated finish provides additional protection against corrosion, ensuring a maintenance-free product capable of withstanding even the harshest weather conditions. Available from 1 to 7 steps-extendable up to 15 steps using the Peak Stair Riser Connectors for decks up to 10 ft. and 1 in. high. Kits are available from 8 to 15 steps.

I look like I need the 10 step risers for the height of my deck. Would 2 stringers be enough to support 29" width stairs if I use composite decking material, or would I need 3 stringers to support that width?

I have a steep slope in my backyard - so if I were to use these stringers and treads, they would be flush with the ground. Would that be an allowable use of these?

For up to 5 steps, these stringers are great: sturdy, simple, ready-to-install. However, connecting two shorter lengths to make a longer stringer is a “cross your fingers and hope for the best” situation: consumer must determine placement of holes — and DRILL through METAL — to connect stringers. ***In an engineered product like this, pre-drilled/powder-coated holes should be part of the original design!!*** Mis-drilling damages the product, rendering it unreturnable. Product isn’t stocked in the store, so I had to wait for it to be delivered to discover this — a ridiculous waste of time for a product that I specifically selected for the qualities of “quick” and “accurate.” I was disgruntled by my experience to say the least.

                    Hi Kari,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear the installation didn’t go as smoothly as expected.

Our stringer extension kit is designed to allow flexibility based on the specific angle and spacing requirements of each project, which is why pre-drilled holes are not included. To support this, we provide a step-by-step installation guide online to assist with proper placement and assembly.

If you need help with your setup or have questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at +1 (877) 883-7325—our team is happy to assist.

Thank you again for choosing Peak Products.

Decent Quality, Don't Expect Perfection - Lots of Work Mounting Stair Treads
Not exactly perfect. I did a 12 stair run and after bolting pieces together there was a slight difference - they aren't perfect, but they are sturdy. I wish the holes were drilled to bolt two pieces together but I understand why they were not (some people only use the 6 stair unit). They are simple to put together. The hardest part is drilling "red heads" into concrete and there is lots of work using carriage bolts mounting stair treads (quite an expensive way to do it.). Don't be fooled into thinking you can get away with two stringers unless you are using steel for steps. Stringers need to be on 16" centers - 3 for 48" wide stairs, so don't let the description fool you into buying two. Wood stringers are an easier quicker job - but pressure treated wood isn't any good these days, and insurance companies may not insure you unless you use steel stringers.

                      Don’t even buy them!
I’m a contractor and we bought these because they advertised they were simple and quick to put up. 10000% false!! The stairs took us two days needed custom bolts! Never buying again! If I could I’d give negative 5 stars

                      Hi BigEs,

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about the challenges you experienced during installation.

Our stair railing kits are designed to be adaptable to a wide range of stair configurations. Because stair angles, surfaces, and materials can vary significantly from one project to another, pre-drilled holes are not included. This allows installers to drill the anchor points precisely where needed for a secure and accurate fit.

Additionally, different surfaces require different types of fasteners—for example, concrete anchors differ from those used in wood. This flexibility ensures the railing can be safely and properly installed in a variety of settings.

We understand that this may have added time to your project, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve our products and installation guidance. If you’d like to discuss your experience further or need support on future projects, please feel free to contact us at 1-877-883-7325, Monday to Friday between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM PST, or email us at customerservice@peakproducts.com.

                      Best regards,
