    Q:What is the final length center on center of a complete 1.5"set with 2 return brackets and a 8' long hand rail. i couldnt see a diagram of the return brackets in order to figure this out myself

    A:  The length, center on center is 98-1/4". If you need it to be shorter, the 8' Rail can easily be cut to size. If you need it to be longer, we also offer a connector and line brackets.

          No directions. Because this is a 3” item, don’t expect all 3 screws to find a 2x4” in your wall. ...
          No directions. Because this is a 3” item, don’t expect all 3 screws to find a 2x4” in your wall. Not unless you have at least 2 in the wall. My bottom bracket has 2 2x4’s, but not the top. So I will attach a support bracket close to the top end. Because these wall brackets and the support brackets are at different heights, I’m finding it impossible to pre-drill my wall holes, or the holes in the railing to connect the support brackets. I am installing these two end brackets first, starting with 1 screw each to get them lined up, then adding the remaining 4 screws (2 each end) after the railing is between them, then adding the support brackets to the wall, and giving a slight drill hole into the railing. Then I will take the railing pipe off the wall again to drill the support bracket holes through. It requires a decent amount of force, and I’m afraid if I do it in place, it will loosen the end bracket screws that are in Sheetrock, not wood. To put the railing in between these end brackets, I will need to put the screws in and out a few times. To drill into the railing, I found directions online that show to use a 9/32 countersink bit, then a 5/32 hole thru the railing. You should have #10 1” screws provided. This Pegatha system should have some directions. I watched a few ‘this old house videos’ on rail installation and realized I can’t mark the wall ahead of time with a chalk line like a wooden system. I’m figuring it out, but it’s a bit challenging. Because the railing pipe fits on top of these and not inside, your cut in a second railing piece needs to be perfect with no chips. A better design would be for the rail to fit inside the end caps, so cut lines can be a lil jagged.

            Could have been a tighter fit into the rail tube. One loop of electric tape tightened it up. Nice product for the money though. Received many compliments.
