This thornless blackberry has large berries and good flavor. This blackberry variety is disease resistant and drought tolerant. The fruit bush will start to flower in the early spring. The fruiting season will begin to ripen its large sweet fruit in July all the way through the first frost. The more fruit you pick will increase the number of fruit the following year. The Prime Ark blackberry is free of pesky thorns and produces black berries large to extra large in size, have a sweet taste and are firm in texture. Similar to its thornless berry relative, the triple crown blackberry. The fruit size alone is a good reason to plant these blackberry plants. They are perfect for home gardeners and can even be grown in containers wherever the climate is suitable. Prime ark blackberries grow up to 4 ft. to 5 ft. tall and 3 ft. to 4 ft. W at maturity.
