Q:Is there a maximum length your vent pipe can be protruding from the roofline for this product to install correctly? I'm concerned mine may be to tall for the bottom piece and top piece to "connect".

Make your roof POP
I just love the clean look they provide to ugly vent pipes. I replaced my roof this year and installed the permaboot over new vent boots for extra protected and pleasing aesthetics!

Relatively easy way to repair exhaust vent seal. Wish it was able to accommodate vents a few inches longer. I had to cut my roof vent pipe by several inches with a sawzall to make it fit. Also the base hinge is a little weak causing easy separation of the base from the bottom tube so had to be handled with care. After installing, I sealed with a Henry rubberized roof repair patch caulking at the hinge joints and around the base.

This product works perfectly in preventing leaks for toilet vent pipes. Sadly, Home Depot only stocks one, so I had to travel a distance to another Home Depot to obtain a second unit. This HD also stocked one unit.

I think this will solve my problem..
I have a tall sewer stack due to snow loads so I was unable to attach the top part of the boot. Instead I caulked around the top of the seal with metal roofing cement that was compatible with the plastics in this product and the pvc pipe. I also caulked around the edges to help keep the wind from lifting it up and off, IF that ever happened. We have over 100mph winds sometimes so you never know. To replace the actual metal and rubber boot on the metal roof may have caused a lot more damage.

Works!!! No more leaks...
After several years like everyone else the rubber around my vent started to be affected by the Sun and rot. I put a little roofing tare around it and that lasted for a few years and then once again, it started to leak. Then I discovered this product. I put the Perma boot on there about 8 years ago and still no leaks!!! (Knock on wood) I'm getting a new roof this week and I am having them put on the Perma boot that is made for new construction. We'll worth $20-30....
