Is the push and seal drain stopper removable for cleaning?

Asked by Jetmech November 23, 2020
1
Answer

Yes! The Push and Seal drain assembly can be easily removed and cleaned by following the instructions below. To clean your Push & Seal drain assembly: 1. In the open position (up), unscrew the drain cap with the Pfister logo counterclockwise and pull out of drain body. 2. Flush any debris from the drain plug by running it under a stream of water. 3. Use a mild soap and soft bristle brush or sponge to remove any visible debris or sediment collected in the threads or crevices of the drain plug and flush under a stream of running water. 4. If the drain plug has calcium or sediment build-up, try soaking the drain plug in a solution mix of 50/50 water and white distilled vinegar for an hour to help loosen the build-up. If there is a lot of build-up, try soaking the drain plug in the same solution overnight and then follow steps 2 and 3. 5. Once the drain plug is clean, replace it by inserting into the drain body and threading it back in by turning it clockwise until it stops. CAUTION: Do not force or overtighten the drain plug as it may snap or break. The post that the stopper head screws onto also unscrews from the drain body. Try unscrewing the post counterclockwise to remove. If you’re having difficulty, please call our Support Team at 1-800-732-8238 for further assistance.

What is the actual height of the faucet from the actual sink?

The highest point (where the faucet arches} is 8 inches from the top of the sink where it is installed. I installed this faucet about 5 or 6 years ago. I bought The Pfister brand because a I wanted a swivel spout and not many brands make them anymore. Not one problem with this faucet - I love it - would buy it again - Highly recommend it.

How does the Courant model differ from the Sonterra model?

I don't know; I haven't used the Sonterra faucet. From the pictures on Pfister's web site, it looks as though the only difference is that the Sonterra has porcelain handles while the Courant has brushed nickel handles. But since I haven't used Sonterra, I don't have any real information. I am happy with the Courant. It has been installed for more than one year, and it is working all right.

Answer

The Courant model does not have a pop up drain assembly with a pull rod. This model has the new Push & Seal drain that you simply push down on the stopper to close and push again to open. Yes this model should work fine with a pedestal sink as long as the installation dimensions are met. Yes it does have a removable aerator! The one that comes with the faucet is awesome! Delivers quite a lot of water! I don't know what gph (gallons per hour) it's rated at but it is quite the stream! Rather forceful and not flow restricted as some aerators are. I would rate the faucet a 5 out of 5 for price, quality, ease of installation and overall appearance! I was pleasantly surprised how well it works! Going on 2 years now His and Hers bathroom sinks and still working flawlessly, nice and tight, no leaks, no wobbles! I also love the "Pop up" sink stopper!

Contact Pfister and they will send you new valves("cartridges" to replace the ones in each handle. Easy installation after shutting off the water to the faucet.

Easy to install. So far (1 month) no issues. Looks good. I like that water starts flowing until the handles are rotated ~one half (45 degrees) from their initial position. At least, that way, there's a good chance that the water will stop flowing even if those are not returned all the way back to their initial position.

I like Pfister because their products are easy to install and good quality. Looks great as well! Replaced chrome builder grade faucets with these, I love how they don’t leave water marks like chrome. Painted the cabinets and now it looks like we installed a brand new vanity!

We used these to replace our outdated bathroom faucets in our master bath. These kept the traditional feel without looking dated! We love the way they look, and this is a great deal!

We have had these about a month now. They were easy to install, are attractive and functional. The faucet head moves side to side which makes mashing my face easier. The push and pop drain stopper works great and is easy to use. These were easy to install. I replaced 5 boulder grade faucets in my home with this model because two of the orginal faucets stopped working. These have great pressure and a replaceable aerator. Recommended product!!

Good quality for price, Comparable to much more expensive faucets; Especially like the drain assembly
Great quality - handles, spout, base all metal. I have installed many faucets, and this one is one of my favorites - have installed several of them for clients, and have put 4 in my own house. Seems lately that the more expensive brands (Moen, Delta, etc.) are getting more plastic parts in their newer designs, so I have lately been installing Pfister faucets. Parts (washers, etc.) are easy to find if needed, but so far have not had any callbacks with these faucets - customers have all been happy with them. Have had them in my own house for 2 years and are holding up well with heavy use. I especially like the drains - easy to install, and have never had one leak. I prefer the Pfister push button design than the usual pop-up linkage ones with the pull rod. The Pfister drains are much less complicated and don't catch hair like the pop-up type, also alot cleaner looking under a pedestal sink since it does not have the messy looking linkage mechanism underneath the sink.
