Q:Can this be plugged in to a standard 110 electrical house plug?
by|Apr 16, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hello! This is a 230V system and thus cannot use a 110V supply. It should be hard-wired to a dedicated breaker of sufficient voltage and amp rating.

A:  Hello! We would ask for at least 6 inches of clearance above the unit.

      Q:Is this unit DIY?

      Answer This Question

A:  Any unit can be DIY if you have the proper tools and some knowledge about installing them (and especially reading all supplied documents word by word). We recommend using our KWIK-E-VAC product for flushing the line sets.

      by|Apr 3, 2024

A:  Hello! They can be DIY installed with proper preparation. The outside unit is factory pre-charged and the line sets are pre-flared to make it simple. It would be a medium-advanced project. The only part needing any specific knowledge is vacuuming the lines using a pump and pressure gauge prior to releasing the refrigerant into the lines, a step which can be bypassed using our easy to use Kwik-E-Vac line set flushing tool which skips that process. Good Unit - Internal Rust After 1 Year
This unit was purchased for a Bedroom Addition January 2022. I perform monthly maintenance check and clean filters regularly. The unit recently began sweating and dripping rusty water down the wall, which will require repainting. Further inspection shows that a metal clip that holds the coils in place has rusted. Why would a piece that is subject to rust be used in the internal components of the indoor unit? This will be an ongoing issue...

            Arrived Unusable
I’d love to give it 5 stars, but an electrician went to install it today and discovered that the heat pump front panel plate was damaged. There was a dent that went across the front of the panel plate and the top of the plate had a dent. It was damaged bad enough that the fan would not turn. The box was not damaged and the fan grate/guard was not damaged. So, as far as I’m concerned, the only way it got damaged was in manufacturing. If so, where was their QC and why did they let it out of the factory?

              Pioneer Mini Split
I bought this mini split unit several weeks before getting it installed. There were no issues at all. The unit was installed easily came with all of the parts, and has been operating very well. What I liked the most since it has been placed in my one-bedroom studio is how quiet it is. If you are a light sleeper, you will not be disturbed. If you like cool, not cold air, there are options for that. My electric bill has not been excessive either. I am on a budget-billing plan with Georgia Power.

Great unit for my workshop! If you have a small area HIGHLY recommended.
An very nice easy-to-install unit. Used the mounting bracket (which I wish had the cross bar at the top) to mount the outside compressor. Mounted the inside unit using the supplied template. Ran the lines, connected power, vacuumed the lines down per the instructions. When all that was done opened the valves and the unit worked perfectly. Extremely quite and effective. Only pulls 7 amps at full power which reduces as the unit reaches the correct temp. Super!

                Thermostat is way off
The good: This mini split system was to install, it is so quiet that it's as quier as a refrigerator, and it looks great. The bad: The Thermostat is way off, but different in different modes. 1. In the "Heat" mode, it holds the temperature 11-12 degrees higher than the setting. The lowest setting is 61, which keeps the room at 72-73 degrees. 2. Using the "Eco" mode, it holds the temperature about 5-6 degrees lower than the setting. 3. Using the "Automatic" mode, it holds the temperature pretty close to the setting, which is great. Because it is winter and i just installed the unit 12 days ago, i do not yet know what will happen when we try the "Cool" mode. I will be contacting Pioneer to find out what they might be able to do about this problem. I hope there will be an easy solution.

Absolutely Wonderful Solution for the price
I purchased this unit (the 36,000 BTU) for our church sanctuary. The coverage of the unit as well as the super quiet operation are incredible. I am completely satisfied with this unit and will most likely look to Pioneer for any and all future needs for mini split units. Even the contactor that installed the unit said it was the nicest and easiest that he has ever hooked up, and is considering offering Pioneer as one of the brands he is willing to install.

Install was as expected. I had it professionally installed Straight forward instruction and operations. Unit is easy to use and heat/ cools the area with ease. We did go up 0.5 ton for the space (420 sq. ft office/garage full insulated) being in Texas with the searing summers. Outside unit is extremely quite.

It stopped working after two weeks, but there's no one anywhere that covers Pioneer systems to fix it.
