What is the weight of the fabric? 1.5oz?

I couldn’t say just too light for a Texas freeze.

Has anyone attempted to use this as a hail cloth? We don't need something that covers our garden...

I have not, but I think I would hold up pretty well. I would be a little worried about large hail making holes, though. Perhaps a tarp will offer more protection.

Can this be used as a canopy? How far apart are the grommets? I live in Tucson how does it hold up to the sun?

Answer

I only use it for frost in winter and not sure how far apart grommets think 3 to a side.

Do these come in a 10 pack

Not that I’ve seen. Seriously doubt it though. Call your local store to verify.

To what temperature is it effective?

Depends on the plants you are trying to protect. If the plants are frost sensitive...these will protect them until the temp goes to near or below freezing . If the plants can handle frost but nit freezing then they will protect until temp is below freezing to some degree.

is it washable

Yes, we have washed ours several times, both by hosing off and in the washing machine.

Do you have to take it off for the plant to get some sun or can it stay on all winter?

Left on plants through the entire winter season Did not harm plants at all

Can the blanket be cut in order to cover several small areas?

Absolutely!

It says it is breathable, but does it also let water through like landscape cloth does?

I have found the blanket allows air circulation and sunshine but blocks moisture & water. When the day warms up, I remove the blanket and water my plants after being covered for more than 4 consecutive days.

Shade?

I would remove the planket after the sun has gone down.

Easy to use. We used bamboo sticks to make teepes to cover our plants. I recomment buying the stakes to anchor it to the ground. This product was used to cover the plants for 2 days when the temperature dipped in Florida.

I like the large size of this product because it makes it easy to install over the plants and shrubs in my flowerbeds. Just secured the Planket on the back side of the beds using plastic stakes through the grommets and pulled it over the to the front side of the beds and secured the same way. Some bricks and stones were also used in irregular areas on the border of the flowerbeds. The polypropylene material protected my tender plants and shrubs during several freezes. I highly recommend this product and plan to buy more.

Works exactly as I hoped it would. The cold is minimal being in Florida but the days it was I was glad to see the odd frosty morning did not affect my plants. It is well made so this should last me a few seasons at least

I used the plant cover when a frost was expected [but didn't actually occur.] It was easy to lay and peg down using the eyelets, and staples [purchased separately.] I removed the cover after 2 nights and dried it off by hanging in my garage. It then folded neatly for storage until the next frost warning. I also purchased a circular plant cover with a draw string for a 4 ft tall hibiscus. That too was easy to fit, dried quickly when hung in the garage and packs neatly for storage.

It has a nice weight and size. The cost was reasonable. Worked well during cold windy weekend.
