AnswersI also have a small wood stove, and the logs remain centered on the grate. I wouldn't want them to stay towards the back of the firebox. Would want them to stay centered for even heat distribution.

I have not burned a fire yet with this product. However, the product seems heavy duty and built well. It holds the wood nicely above the firebrick and is positioned with six inches of space from the rear and each side. I anticipate it will allow for a nice burn. This is going to be used on an outdoor fireplace and dresses up the inside very well.

This fireplace grate is 20lbs heavier than the one we inherited when we purchased our home.
We chose this grate because the 3/4" thick grating is not going to sag during the extream tempetures of heavy use.
I enjoy looking at the glowing steel hold the heavy chunk of firewood above the ashes which allows the fire to breathe.
We have been using this grate for the past 2 1/2 months and it has allowed nearly 3 cords of firewood to burn efficently.
It is 21" wide at the feet. And 16" wide at the front X 12" wide at the rear horizontal bars.
The horizontal bars are 5 1/2" above the floor and curve upward to a height of 7 1/2".

Arrived quickly, and was exactly as advertised. Seems very solidly built. I've had it about 2 months now, and have made several very large fires on it. So far it has performed perfectly. Great value.

Hardcore. Anything less than a close quarters thermonuclear deployment could not hurt this extremely sturdy fireplace grate. You could literally drive a dump truck over it. Maybe a tank. Perfect for my outdoor fireplace. Great product!
