The Pleasant Hearth Universal Zero Clearance 42 inch ventless Fireplace insert is a beautiful unit. Unique in its design and straightforward in its installation, at least according to my installer, it will surely transform any room. The fact that it is dual fuel is a big selling point. Natural gas or liquid propane options in one unit, Excellent! The only sticking point that I can argue is the cheap look of the brick backing. This could be far more realistic in it's look than it is. Delivery was well coordinated and although the box was crushed, there didn't seem to be any damage to the unit itself. Very disappointed that it did not come with the vent free gas logs especially at this price.

Large 42" firebox
Nice design in this vent free circulating firebox with zero clearance gives you flexibility in where you can install it. This is a large 42" firebox with a nice aesthetic brick back, pull open/closed fire screen and hood. You do have to purchase the blower and vent free gas logs separately so the cost can add up. But the finished product is very functional and efficient. Can be used with either natural gas or LP. With zero clearance this firebox can be installed next to non-combustible materials such as granite and stone. Comes in 3 sizes 32", 36" and 42". We went with the 42" as we have a large wall in our new house that we plan to install it on. Feels sturdy and well constructed with a steel frame work.

My new Pleasant Hearth Universal Circulating Zero Clearance 42 in. Ventless Dual Fuel Fireplace Insert was just delivered and I can't wait to install it in my living room. I am going to build a surround and mantle for it although it is not required. I like that this is ventless although I am not entirely sure how that works. It looks great except the faux Brock does not line up on one side which really bothers me.

When I got it the brick inside the fireplace was...
When I got it the brick inside the fireplace was fell over and messed up trying to get Homedepot to swap them out so I had to bring the whole thing back which is crazy when they sell the kit to go inside the fireplace online I could’ve swapped it out
