No Drainage Channels
Still in box but removed to look at it. Disappointed in that there were no drainage channels as advertised. Invested a lot of money for this and the drainage channels were important to me. So, this showed a feature that I did not get. Guess pictures don't necessarily represent the product. Can someone make this right? Otherwise, very attractive and very well packaged.

Finally something worth reviewing
Bought two of these planters, in hopes of creating a more private" patio space. It's hard finding anything cheap(?), well built, and looks good. These are just in the middle of that price range, but exceed on everything else. I shouldn't say middle, they are probably on the high end of planters when you consider their "weight"...info below. Love that they are so light, delivery package was deceiving. Partner hauled them into the house when they were delivered without an issue. Good packaging as well, minimal Styrofoam. No damage to either even though I saw the driver drop one on camera, doh...assumed a return. I used some extra steel wool I had, pulled apart just enough to cover drain holes. Worked on every other planter I've had, you want to see through it but not see through it...? Reason I chose these, was based on the drain holes, drain channels under them to protect surfaces, size, texture, and ultimately...the insulation. Wisconsin can be a pain to plant, planters if not bringing inside over the winter. I'm hoping these thick things will prevent that need too. So, pay for the protection of them/lightweight feature, not because they are heavy ceramic things (that will crack in the winter, when left outdoors). First thing into them ...was my cat, of course. Grass plants for now, will and small ground cover as a mulch vs. mulch. Even with dirt in them, they can be moved without an issue, but won't blow away minus a tornado.

This is a very interesting product, and would definitely be ideal in some situations. It has the look of a concrete planter, which is great for more urban areas, and yet it weighs about as much as a plastic planter of the same size. That makes it very easy to move. It appears to be made of an advanced foam material, and the outside of it is hardened to prevent damage. The interior is actually somewhat pliable, and could probably be damaged if you took a sharp tool to it. I have two concerns, however, from an aesthetic viewpoint. The first is that it the planter has a stucco look, and was far bumpier than I thought it would be. Even brushing against it accidentally might leave you with a bit of a scratch. I think it would be nicer if it were a smooth concrete-like material. Second of all, the color name is pretty inaccurate. It's just a dark grey, despite being called "urban bronze". I was so shocked by this that I had the manufacturer send out a second sample, and sure enough, it's the same grey. I'm actually really surprised no other reviewer has posted a photo of the product. The first thing that struck me was that it wasn't a bronze color, but I guess others aren't bothered by this. I'm posting a photo so everyone knows exactly what this planter looks like. One piece of good news is that the material is paintable with any outdoor house paint, so you can actually make it any color you'd like. Overall, I think this is an innovative product if the urban concrete look appeals to you, but it's quite expensive, and in the end isn't the most attractive planter I've seen. If you're interested in the planter due to its design, durability and lightweight, consider some of the other colors, which look more interesting to me.

Outstanding! The scale of this planter is fantastic, constructed of lightweight PolyStone it is easy to move into position, takes about 5 cubic feet of soil, has drain holes in the bottom and keeps the soil insulated (it feels like thick foam) to help keep the roots in a steady temperature. It is rated for significant temperature swings—from -30 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit! I love how this planter looks. I put in society garlic to accent the strong lines of the planter, then red bell peppers and broccoli so it’ll produce snacks for my family. The plants’ color pop in this planter, and in time the mini clover (instead of mulch) will produce nitrogen for the plants, keeping them fertilized and insulated on top. This certainly doesn’t look like something in your grandmother’s garden; modern and functional, this piece would look great in a business. I was impressed they gave two emails in the package, one for an actual person at PolyStone Planters should you have any questions. We expect to enjoy this piece for decades. One optional feature I’d like to see would be a false bottom and some risers for the drain holes to make this self-watering—it’s certainly tough enough to support this feature. Outstanding planter!

So far, I am very pleased with these planter troughs. I have two now and room for more. I set them out after I got them and didn’t have time to level them, so tackled that the next day. The reason I mention this is because they are on a hill and I wanted them to look balanced. But, it rained that night and I noticed the water was flooded down in the front. The drainage holes are in the center, so regardless, they need to be leveled. Made in America, not of plastics, light weight, movable, weather proof, can be painted with outdoor paint if desired, and come all in one piece with nothing to assemble. I’m ready to put soil and manure in them to get them ready for Spring planting. I’m using this on for vegetables, but they can be used for flowers, plants of any nature really. This is a really nice, large sized trough and I’m anxious to get things growing in it.

Poly-Stone LLC. and The Home Depot have a very nice large planter in this one ! The Polymers used to form this planter will not separate or break down like most plastics do ! The bottom has great drains built in ! 46 inches long by 19 inches high and 17 inches wide is a great size to put potted plants in. It is also paintable, but not needed for about 10 years ! (see photos) We love this planter !

Good quality. Planters are light and easy to move around (before dirt added). Packaging it comes in is impressive. Have ordered both the white and chocolate brown planters. Very pleased.

Beautiful planters! Received them much earlier than expected and I am totally delighted with my purchase. They are very well made and very nice to look at...really look like stone planters without the vast weight. I was able to lift them out of the shipping boxes and I'm 70 years old...:-)
