Product Overview

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner designed for the pond and water feature industry. Created to construction water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners are able to offer with no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, Pond Shield is available in eight colors - Black, Clear, Competition Blue, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Tan, Gray and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. Easily applied and easy to maintain, for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78° F to 140° F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, your single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

Really Amazing Product
When used correctly, this product is amazing. It creates a beautiful and thick lining for a concrete pond--no more messy EPDM liner with bulky folds in the corners. Hooray! Yes, you have to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for this to work properly, but as long as you do that, it is flawless. Beyond that, my husband and I have never experienced better or more friendly customer service than we have from Butch at Pond Armor. He is patient and will invest his time to make sure all questions are answered. He stands behind the integrity of his product 100%. He has truly gone above and beyond to make sure our pond project is a success, and a safe home for our beloved koi fish.

Love the product. My husband has past and we are DIY’s-I was apprehensive to do it. Cause I was always the assistant-But the company walked me through every step of the way. Call as many times as you need. And I did… I’m an old grandma - and I did it!!!! I hate when people say I did it so you can to it too…, But your skill set is a willing heart if your got that, I believe you can do this And it looks professional. I did a 400 gallon cement fish pond

I just applied this product so I can't give a complete review of durability, but here goes anyway. I gave this 4 stars due to the mixing instruction that I've explained below. Also, just applied it a few weeks ago, so the jury is still out. My guess is it will work and solve my problems. My project was on a 3' x 5' x 2' brick and cement fountain that had been previously painted with a smooth blue pool paint. Surface was a combination of smooth and rough painted surface and raw cement with big chips and cracks. I only rolled and brushed. I didn't squeegee. 1. Rolled on nicely and did a good job filling in cracks, voids and chips. Tends to settle away from high points in rough areas, so a second coat is needed. Brush touchup application was easy as well. I mixed up several different amounts. Variations in the paint formula don't seem to effect the setup of the paint (only drying time). 2. I've used a lot of 2 part paints in the past. The directions state to use a mixing drill wand in the reverse setting to minimize air bubbles and do some hand paddle mixing to fold the two parts together. This provided insufficient mixing of the two parts. I had mixed half the total amount. Before I was even done pouring and rolling I had 1.5 inches of hardened paint in the bottom of my bucket that was unusable. Painted mixture did dry, it just took longer. I would suggest to use the drill mixing wand in forward position and just be careful to not whip air into the paint for more complete mixing. Also, pour all the mixture into another bucket and remix with drill wand and hand fold and stir. This may be an extra amount of work, but it would help to mix the two parts more effectively and ensure less waste. After all it is pricey. 3. Direction suggest to use alcohol to cut one of the parts. When I mixed a small amount for touchups and dabs on vertical surfaces, I didn't do this so it was thicker and would stay better in place.
