Where does the dirt go after suction ? Does the filtered water return to pool ?

Answer This Question

The vacuum has a filter bag that collects the debris and dirt. After vacuuming, you remove and rinse the filter bag, and the cleaned water returns to the pool.

I have rusty water. The filter I bought for my hose got some but not all so now I have very fine rust particles that settle at the bottom and look like dirt. Will this vacuum pick them up?
ByJun 18, 2024

Answer This Question

Yes, this vacuum is designed to pick up both large and fine debris from your pool, including very fine particles that settle at the bottom. It comes with an X-treme multilayer filter bag that helps trap even small particles effectively.

Is this product like a jandy or barracuda that works on the floor of the pool with just a hose to the filter
ByAug 31, 2023
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

This product is a handheld, battery-powered vacuum cleaner designed for pools and spas. It does not function like the Jandy or Barracuda cleaners you mentioned, which are typically automatic and rely on the pool's filtration system. This product has its own self-contained filter bag and does not require a hose connection to the pool filter.

Works as advertised
This pool vacuum took a 4 hour charge and the next day I was able to vacuum my 23,000 gallon pool with ease! It picks up leaves, pebbles & sand effortlessly. I was able to attach the vacuum to my pool pole because the pole that comes with it was too short to reach the bottom of my 8 foot inground pool.

The shipping was fine and timely. The machine itself operates good and vacuums our 18’ above ground pool well. But the thing I bought it for was to try and remove the dead algae in my pool and for this it fell short. It would look good after I used it but just kept coming back even after several uses. It’s like it would just recirculate the algae and not really remove it. Ended up borrowing my brother’s wet/dry vac to get the algae out!

    Does the job!
I admit to being skeptical that this vacuum, that looks more like a toy, could do credible work. I was wrong. After some mixups about shipping from Water Tech, Home Depot straightened out the order and the Catfish arrived. I use it on a large reflecting pool in a public park three times a week. This pool sits under oak trees and picks up all sorts of debris. While we skim the leaf drop with traditional skimming poles, we use the Catfish to remove sand, sediment and muck. It takes me a little over a half hour to suck up almost all the debris - maybe to 90% or better. When done, the pool shines like a jewel in the sun. The design really works and the battery last a long time and charges in an hour or so. I'd recommend the product as useful - also recommend the purchase of a sand and silt bag which has a finer mesh. The bags are overpriced, but for the use of this machine, what would we expect?

Great little tool. Just the right size. I have a 6000 gallon fiberglass built in. Lagoon shaped and this tool gets into corners. Only setback is the battery. My previous was just over a year old and quit charging. Instructions say NEVER charge for more than 4 hours. During winter, unplug for storage bot plug in and charge for 4 hours once a month. I have never done that with any of my rechargeable tools. No way to know status of battery to know if recharging is necessary. I will have to jump those hurdles I guess.

Would not charge right out of the box. This was our second purchase and the first one stopped charging after three seasons. Trying something else.

The charging indicator light was faulty, and the product did not pick up sand; poor suction.

Different than my previous model. This one is difficult to get apart to clean.

My battery went out on my other one, but I could use the parts off of it to combine the two and have dual use, it works great
