Pool Time pH Up raises low pH to maintain the proper pH level of 7.2 pH to 7.6. pH Up helps to protect equipment from corrosion, while improving swimmer comfort by returning pH to it's proper level. Apply this granular formula directly to pool water in the deepest end of the pool with the pump running.

      A:  Yes. Approved for use in a Hot Tub. Simply check your owner manual for specs on gallon capacity and add product according to instructions found on the back of the container.

However, the active ingredient of our pH Up product is the same as our SpaTime pH pH Up, which is labeled for use in spas and hot tubs.           A:  It is just Sodium Carbonate, so if diluted in a bucket and added in moderation it should not be a problem.

          A:  Hi Maltmom, We are the manufacturer of Pool Time products. There are 16 ounces in a pound and 8 ounces in a cup. 3/4 of a cup of the pH Up would be about six ounces of the product. If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 1-800-252-POOL (7665). Thank you.

            A:  There are 16 ounces in a pound. Since pools are different sizes, they provide more precise instructions for different pool sizes by converting to ounces. So if you need 48 ounces, just add hald the box, as an example.

            My pool runs acidic so I am always trying to raise the pH. I believe the basic chemical used in this is sodium carbonate and it works very well. Once the pH is neutral chlorine is more effective and stable. This is very important to pool health.

            It works just fine. It's sodium carbonate. After a bit of research, I found that it's the same product as Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (not baking soda) which is a bit cheaper. You can also use soda ash which is also sodium carbonate. It's all the same.
