Elite Swivel Swimming Pool Skimmer

Got my pool open and tried for the first time. It is a little difficult to get used to how t o use as you need to find the best way to use and get to swivel back in both directions. It does pick up well and fits on any pole easily. The quality is good as it is lightweight which is nice. the netting is good quality and can be easily taken out to clean. Again just a little difficult to use until you get used to it.

When I saw this item on the Seeds campaign this month, I was excited to try it out. I enjoy swimming in the pool during the summer time since it helps me keep comfortable with the high temps, but the leaves and bugs take a toll on this past time. This skimmer should make removing the floaters a much easier and faster task giving me more time to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. On a side note, I have to say that I was impressed with the quality of the product after the delivery company threw the product several feet into my porch and crushed the box pretty bad. The skimmer inside had only a slight dent and absolutely no loss of functionality. Also, appreciated is the Thank you page I uploaded a picture of that the vendor included in the shipment.

I am not a big fan of the swivel skim elite. It is large and bulky which makes it difficult to find easy storage. The product does work as described by the manufacturer, The floats help keep the debris in the net and do not allow it to come back out, I did like that feature. The push/pull action takes a little while to master. If you go too fast the debris is just pushed out of the way by the large float. In contrast, if you go too slow, it won't swivel and allow debris to collect in the net. I would also say the quality and strength of the plastics used are poor.

The main benefit of the Swivel Skim over the standard skimmer is the ability to change directions without losing debris back into the pool. The Swivel Skim is meant to float on top of the water while you push it back and forth with a pool pole, much like vacuuming a floor. The attachment will tip in the direction of movement to collect material in the deep net. Swiveling of the net isn't as effortless as the instructions describe and you can't leisurely walk around the pool dragging it behind you. It takes a somewhat brisk and continuous movement to keep the net tilted to one side. Also, because of the float you cannot collect debris that is more than a few inches below the surface. Emptying the net takes a little longer than tapping a flat skimmer but it's straightforward. All in all, the Swivel Skim Elite is a good addition to your pool tool arsenal.

for the period that i owe this pool skimmer it does work as it is advertise. The skimmer is design that will work only on surface, with that said it will pick up only floating debris like tree lives or anything that float on surface. You will have to have regular skimmer to chase the frogs and bottom large debris. Does wort to buy extra pool tool you will have to decide I just know since i got this skimmer my kids love it and they like to play with it so less work for me. as for quality it is an average I would say if you store outside it should last for at last 3 years if stored in storage should prolong the life of tool. Remember it is not designed to be submersed under water works only on surface. Also one other thing when you skimming the pool with this one it will make no stress on your hands as you do not have to pick it up in the air as with standard mash, just let it float and push it forward and backward and debris will end up in the mash and the mash is easily removable for clean up.

After 3 uses the net had already started tearing. Very poor quality netting.

This is a great, high capacity skimmer. I'm using it to get algae out of a rainwater storage tank I use in my irrigation system and it's perfect for that. I use it in a prefilter capacity as the trainer that keeps the big stuff from clogging my pump. The fact that it floats is a bonus as I can basically just pipe the water into the strainer in a pump tank and then pump the (reasonably) clean water out to the garden. Just what I needed.

As a general debris removal tool this doesn't work. This was a good idea. A surface skimmer that pivots to scoop debris off the surface of the pool. Push it and it flips over and starts scooping debris off the surface. Pull it and it flips the other way to scoop. Stop and the rim flips up to keep debris from floating out of the net. PRO: It is easy to push and pull compared to a regular leaf scoop. CON: You have to push and pull at a rather fast speed or it won't flip over. PRO: The skimmer is buoyant, so when you stop pushing or pulling it the net flips up and traps the debris. CON: The skimmer is buoyant. so you can't use it to get anything that is below the surface. If it isn't right on the surface this won't get it. CON: The more you have in the net the less it peforms. The flotation rim is very wide and pushes quite a bit of water. When you get leaves and debris in the net it pushes even more water and quickly just pushes debris out of the way instead of scooping it in. CON: It's hard to empty. The more you have in the net the harder it is to empty it. The swivel tube blocks the opening so I found myself reaching in to pull the wet leaves and bug bodies out. SUMMARY: Way to many CONS to make this worth any money. Even if you buy this you'll have to buy a regular leaf net to get the things off the bottom of the pool.

The Swivel Skim Elite does a good job collecting leaves, bugs, and debris on the surface of the pool, or just below the surface. The large floats make it too buoyant to collect much below the surface, but it does work well for the top with little effort and strain on the arms or wrists because it it supporting its own weight. It's easy to attach to an existing pool pole, easy to empty, and the plastic and netting are sturdy. If you have a vacuum and/or skimmer in your pool, this is a good tool to supplement them. If you don't have a vacuum, you would need a different net to reach debris at the bottom.
